>>9073537>this is what Anno sycophants believeThe man can't competently direct live action. His sophomoric attempts at aping the visuals, dialogue, and direction of the Social Network (all of which he has publicly admitted to) were horrendous. In addition to Anno being a hack of a live-action director, Higuchi's special effect direction notably declined from his work on the Gamera series to Shin, though I guess that could be chalked up to working in a different medium/going from largely suitmation with a little bad CGI to working entirely in bad CGI. Of all the things that SP does better than Shin, the one that should be inarguable is sound design. The decision to reuse classic sound effects and to over-rely on classic themes and Eva themes severely handicapped the movie. The '54 roar didn't sound good coming out of a modern theater's sound system when I saw the movie in theaters five years ago and it doesn't sound good today coming out of a home theater system.
>>9073549>beamsnot that I know of, but I think Steve from The Geek Chest is gonna start 3d printing some and selling them. He made a couple for a GMK custom job he did last month and I think he's working on some other beam designs. Mostly I just make mine with hot glue, paper clips, and acrylic paint.
>buildingsI usually get mine from eyepopdesigns on eBay. They do start to add up in price over time though since they are like 20 bucks each with some of the larger 1/200 scale buildings getting up to $55. I know there is a Facebook seller who sells some really high-quality shit, but they range from $100 to $300 each, and I don't care how nice they are, no accessory is worth the same price as my Biollante.
