Recently got back into LEGO and as I’m unpacking old sets I’m noticing a lot of the stickers are dried up and either peeling, cracking, or both. Is there any way to fix that or would it be best to just take them off? Any way to prevent that from happening?

with that on in OP's pic, you may be able to use a pen knife to cut the excess, so only the graphic is seen and it may be possible to coat your stickers with some kind of model sealant-- i think guys who do model airplanes have a no gloss clear coat they use for decals-- I would definitly look in that direction.

That’s just how stickers are, I guess. I’ve had an old Ferrari set on display for a long time (at least 10 years), and all its stickers are decaying. I don’t know what can be done about it.

I started sealing stickers in clear water-based acrylic paint about 4~5 years ago and they seem to be holding up well so far. (though they aren't "child tested") It's the same paint you'd use for tightening joints.

If the sticker is peeling, you can dab a bit of the acrylic on the underside as glue then hold it down till it dries

Creases on metallic foil stickers can be repaired by pressing them out using pottery ball styluses in pic. These styluses are also good for pressing out air from underneath the stickers without tearing them.

Creases on paper stickers can't be repaired, even if you flatten them the ink is ruined. Best is to just remove them if they haven't affected the important part of the sticker, like OP's pic.
