>>9087849>Todd operates on an extremely high level of boomer logic. He seems like he chooses what to do based mostly on what he likes.I feel like Todd almost exclusively goes for where the money is. He previously mentioned 'some pretty big licenses', and I'm pretty sure he meant Disney. Does Todd himself have a particular fondness for a Disney mobile game, or Avatar, or even DC? Idk, but are those (potentially) valuable properties? Absolutely. Retailers also have to want the product, so let's say Todd really wanted to do some random Image character, odds are retailers would laugh him away, and it wasn't until MK11 Spawn + KS Spawn that retailers took notice of Spawn again, and probably what led directly to the upcoming Spawn lineup.
There's also the logic of seeing how initial offerings sell then progressing from there, the logic of which has killed its fair share of potential lines.
If anything has felt a bit like a 'for me' project that was strictly because Todd himself liked it and not because it would sell particularly well, it would be Princess Bride. It's so far out of the limelight that very likely the only people who would be interested would be older folks who watched it when they were younger.
