Hell, that's another thing along the same lines as companies using too much die-cast is companies using too much fucking paint where it isn't needed.Unless you're aiming for metallic, base plastic color is always better than slathering your figure in paint just for the sake of it.
Paint, like die-cast, is best used sparingly and for very specific purposes, such as picking out particular details or if the color has to be metallic.
