>>9097730I don’t think it’s still a thing but Select used to have certain restrictions about how much articulation they could put into a figure, due to competition with Legends.
Selects basically have better paint, unique sculpts, and a decent character selection.
Legends have wider character selection, more consistent (and better) articulation, and better scale within the line.
Select has a couple figures where they really killed it. Rhino, Carnage (except he’s way too tall, even for other Selects), Spider-Man, Psylocke, and Rogue. The bigger figures like Thanos and Abomination are also strong contenders.
My main issue with the line is either characters being out of scale (like Carnage) or weird proportions or articulation. Venom is good, but he got stuck with those DC Classics style hips, single jointed knees, and no ankle rocker. Their second attempt at Spider-Man is great; I’d even say he gives Pizza Spidey a run for his money, and the lighter blue was a nice choice. But his thighs are incredibly long for some reason, and they gave him those crappy Y-Joint hips.
Idk. At least with Hasbro, what you see is what you get. No figure is going to have articulation that’s drastically different than any other; they either have butterfly joints, swivel biceps, or drop down hips, or they don’t. Select is more of a mixed bag.
