>>9108824Not the way that WB did it.
normally it's different heads within the same company who are vying for better positions, but not with WB, who owned dozens of companies. The top heads actually didn't care about what they could do for the company that they were heading, but how they could point toward something they did to prove their worth.
I mean, when Sony Music sued Sony Computers over CDRs, it was mostly done to show that they were fighting over rights. Under law, if you don't do this, you can lose rights to your properties. This is almost common sense.
What WB did was literal self sabotage, like when Cartoon Network fucked with DC Nation for having good ratings. Cartoon Network was benefitting from this because it makes people tune into their network and increases their ratings. The CN head didn't like that that success didn't come from something HE did, and instead wanted to shame Warner Bro Animations.
Also see why popular series like Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy (and many others) got canceled, which was beause a new president came in and he wanted nothing from the former president's plans to carry over into his reign.
Obviously, this also happens with other companies, like with Marvel and Perlmutter trying to kill XMen and make Inhumans a leading property, but that's just a single guy. Every fucking head at nearly every company WB owned was doing stupid shit to stand out.
