Welcome to the Transformers General!

Transformers 7 is called Rise of the Beasts and it's a sequel to Bumblebee. Steven Caple Jr. said he wants to do the fans justice because he himself loved Beast Wars growing up. Optimus Prime is the lead of the movie. Lots of robot characters are yet to be revealed.

-In the virtual waiting area for the presentation, there were Autobot, Maximal, Decepticon, and Predacon logos. However, there was also an unknown green logo, which might be the Terrorcon logo. Here is a bad mouse drawing of it. Pretend it's emerald green.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts news as a whole, we have a new batch of rumors concerning the film once again from friend of the site Protoman. As stated before, he was able to visit the movie set in Montreal, Canada where he was able to learn some interesting bits of info. This time, in his newest video, he elaborated more on what he saw now that the movie has been officially revealed.

You can check out the information that was relayed after the break, but be warned that there are possible heavy spoilers for the film.

>The movie’s name was indeed originally Beast Alliance.

>There are things about the movie that have not been publicly revealed but have been sighted on the streets of Montreal. Shooting there has just wrapped up, and shooting in Peru will be starting soon.

>Unlike Bumblebee which had a comparatively smaller budget, this will be a big summer blockbuster similar to what we’ve seen in the past.

Possibly, but he might be Galvar in this movie so it won't be confused with the other. Also, Optimus Primal is just called Primal on set, apparently they have lots of stand ins made of cardboard for every character and a lot weren't revealed yet. Caple Jr. mentioned Ironhide 2 times, Cheetor cardboard was seen on set. Filming has also wrapped in Montreal, they will film in Peru, Machu Picchu next for 6 weeks and then some more in New York for city scenes, but majority of New York scenes were filmed in Montreal inside a studio. We should get more info in a few days and set pics.

This is frontal with no filters, I've literally never painted gunpla or anything before, let alone bought/owned paint and mixed them.
I'm doing my best to learn how to deal with QC issues or scratches, I lived with TR Rod's lip herpe and TR Kup's nose scratch (a sharkticon biting him was the explanation that some of you guys liked). But this is literally my favourite character and toy...

Can it though..? A different shade of paint would look odd, and there'd be no way to apply such little paint to that kind of area, surely a miscoloured splotch would appear and make it more obvious.

Trial and error, anon. You gotta find the right ratio. It's really not that hard - just pour out some white into a pallet, dab a bit of black onto like, a toothpick and mix - then test it. If it doesn't look right, then wipe off the face and the toothpick with a napkin, then repeat - adding a little more black of course. I've done this to repair a couple of my G.I. Joe figures' broken thumbs & crotches with epoxy putty and it turned out nice - the paint match is pretty much perfect.

The clip holding his arm pipes to the legs broke, making it so he could never solidly connect when becoming a vehicle. Fortunately the store staff were chill about it and let me get a replacement.

I used to do poorly with gorilla glue, before I figured out it expands and that cheaper dollar store super glue was superior (and I've literally never seen pledge future in Toronto!!!).. but it was still a painful progress, more broken/ruined things than necessary..

Ah, heard that was a problem for some, praying mine'll always be fine. Saw some anon fixed it on their own, that wasn't you? Couldn't you glue- ah. That's nice of them, glad everything worked out. TRUs in Toronto haven't opened, since only stores with outside entrances can be opened!!! And I think they'd mostly have Siege and Earthrise at the moment, compared to no-stock walmart anyway.
Everything's just a mess. It's 8am I'm going to bed, hopefully the paint chip was just a group hallucination that isn't real. Either that or someone contrives a cute backstory for it that makes me love him more.
I swear if I get Rodimus and he's less than perfect I am going to scream. Fuckin near-MP prices for my favourite fren..

Plot leak:

Anyway, they attack the Incas and then Maximals show up and save them, they actually set up a trap at Machu Picchu and they seal the Predacons in a tomb inside it that can be opened with a key. Anyway, cut to the 90s, humans have found the key in Peru but not the tomb. So they send the key to a museum in New York, meanwhile Optimus Prime learns about Earth with his Autobots crew. They meet Noah and start a bond. Elena works at the museum and her boss got called to go in Peru because they found a map that could lead them to the tomb, they have no idea what's inside the tomb. Anyway, the Terrorcons arrive on Earth, they are an offshoot of the decepticons who betrayed Megatron, anarchists. Led by Scourge, they have learned that humans have found the key to the ancient tomb of the Predacons, they are legends on Cybertron and Scourge wants them to build his army to kill Megatron. Optimus and autobots need to steal the key and they are helped by Noah, he meets Elena and they become friends.The Autobots would meet the Maximals who decided to wake up from their ship, hidden in the forests inside caves, after they sensed the key was found. Final battle would take place in Peru, with the Terrorcons freeing the Predacons only to see them betray their cause and start destroying everything. Then Autobots and Maximals would fight both Terrorcons and Predacons at the same time. Predacons would escape to set up Beast Wars and all the Terrorcons will die. Decepticons would appear only in a flashback and a post credits scene with Megatron preparing the armada, they found Prime on Earth thanks to Nightbird, who was a Decepticon spy. Movie ends with Optimus accepting his new home and family.

Arguably Starscream was following the Decepticon ethos by purging the weak and favoring the strong. Depending on how Soundwave’s loyalties are divided between Megatron and the Decepticon cause, it’s possible for him to stand by and let his leader get chucked out the airlock.

Although generally of Megatron’s big three, Starscream follows the cause and not Megatron, Soundwave follows Megatron, and Shockwave follows what is most logical/beneficial for him and his experiments.

Not said anon but this works for all recent TFs. Takes maybe 5 minutes per surface with a regular white eraser to remove all kinds of paint apps. Pretty sure everything tampo'd such as siege battle damage will come off, but the silver paint that's used to coat pieces will not.
I also removed the con badge and replaced it with a reprolabel since purple on purple looked as bad on him as it does on Cyclonus. No clue why they couldn't give it a silver or white outline.

Actually, given how each of Megatron’s lieutenants tends to fill a different niche and are generally strong enough to be movie big bads all by themselves, what does that mean for Scourge with TF7? He was always lower than Cyclonus in terms of character, but his moments in the G1 cartoon coupled with how RiD, Cybertron, and arguably Prime (through Predaking) have taken the concept make for an interesting character:

Scourge is a hunter. He has respect for his prey, but while Cyclonus treats his enemies as equals (a la bushido like BW Dinobot), Scourge can and will use every trick to capture/kill his quarry- not for profit (like a Lockdown or Swindle) and not for honor (Cyclonus/Dinobot) but because he is strong and might makes right. I’d like to imagine inspiration pulled from the original Predator film. Design wise just take Prime Predaking, reconfigure the back wings into more of a cape/spiky wings like G1, and of course keep the facial hair.

You can remove any paint that's tampo'd on like battle damage, faction insignia, etc off of most if not all modern TFs. You just need a regular ass white eraser and maybe 5 minutes of work on each surface. Harder to get into the cracks on things like Siege surfaces since they're greebled to shit but a very fine tip on an x-acto knife can scrape out that if you're super worried about it.

Well sure, but this entire franchise is built upon logical extrapolations and characters as products. The names and designs mean something beyond rule of cool, trademarks, and selling toys. Given that TF7 will mark Scourge’s major film debut, I feel it’s important to fully grasp his niche as a character, taking into account the other uses of the name outside G1. It’s the same reason that, in new series, Ironhide tends to have a dash of Bayverse, Ratchet is older, Shockwave is a scientist, etc. These characteristics and tropes have become integral to their meta-characters.

Frankly, I like it. Using the unifying thread that Scourge has always been a ‘noble’ leader (G1 had Matrix for a bit, RID and Cybertron were Convoys/Primes, and PredaKING) coupled with their usual profession of hunting/tracking as well as the etymology of the name Scourge (both as a torture weapon and as a thorough suffering of mass destruction)

They got Lockdown’s personality right even if his look was completely different.
Sideswipe’s characterization was also pretty accurate to his G1 self.
Jetfire was still an ex-Decepticon.
Wheeljack had roughly the same personality, though considering they called him Que in the film I doubt it counts.

It’s weak, sure, but even the Bay films had some concept of what the characters were supposed to be like sometimes, and it was largely because of sponsored vehicles and obsession with complex/‘realistic’ cgi that they ended up unrecognizable. Knight did better than that and it seems like TF7 will follow the trend.

We don’t need or want 1:1 recreations of the cartoons we watched as kids, but they still should resonate/echo the facets that made them memorable and beloved characters in the first place.

She certainly feels fragile, but the one time I thought for sure I broke her (knocked a stack of books over on her) all that happened was a few spider legs popped off the ball joints.

My biggest complaint is that on mine the hips have more friction against each other than against the waist so they keep trying to move together when posing her, and the 90 degree elbows are too shallow to put her hands on her hips

Oh yeah, and the tiddy peg broke off, but I forgot that even existed until you brought it up. It doesn't really do anything.

Shes not as much fun as a toy as paleotrex, but if you like the character I recommend her

I've never had any problems with the peg everyone else seemed to, and she's pretty solid all around. Be careful with her claw tips though, those are very long very thin pieces of plastic, and are gonna be a little scary just by their nature. Mine took a tumble off of a shelf and the very tip of one of them actually snapped off, it was a clean snap, so easy to glue back on and you wouldn't know if I told you, but it's something to be wary of. Just don't be stupid like me and she'll be fine

My absolute biggest gripe with the mold is the limited hip articulation. Outwards movement is great, backwards movement is great, but pic related is as far as they can move forwards. Other than that she's great but it is a little annoying when I can't get her into a proper sitting pose.

It can be tricky to get the gun to tab into the arms but once it's in there everything holds together pretty well, helps that she has tight joints so everything holds in place even if the tabs won't

I actually really like the look of the robot mode, but for such an extreme partsformer they didn't have to make ER Arcee / Lifeline so miserable to transform. I already memorized exactly the angle her thigh joints have to be rotated but actually compressing the kibble piece and making that big pin go into the hole in her back is a pain since the damn thing won't slide down easily. Makes me want to throw the damn thing at a wall and just leave them in robot mode forever.

Officially? There's an entire chart of possible combiners using Computron and Abominus, with a few showing up in Fiction (Destron Super Scramble notably showing up recently). The truest herald of the 3mm clip system.
Dude's got four clip on weapons to himself and about 10 inches of rail to stockpile more.

I like this one so much more than deluxe Ironhide. It isn't just the weapons, all the extra truck accessories and the paint job just command attention.
I like the painted windshield/no windows combo, the interior bots create the illusion of seats. It's all black on black but the shapes are there.

Weighing in at just over two Kingdom Dinobots, Ironhide rumbles along nicely. Zero ground clearance issues on this jacked up truck.

It was a total 100% coincidence I pulled him out right after Ironhide yesterday and I'll never be able to convince anyone of it.

Because up until the last few years of their original TF run , they had the most solid and enjoyable Transformers storytelling for anyone who's approaching the franchise as an adult. Like Beast Wars is my personal favorite and I think Prime or Animated are the best written as far as animation, none of those are really good in the standpoint of anyone over the age of 15.

The transformation is definitely more interesting than yesterday. And the result both more dynamic and more rickety.

Nothing in the torso pegs in place. Not the head panel, not the front bit, and certainly not the truck chunks. In fact, those pieces are on springs, so it is their god given mission to make physical cohesion in robot mode as hard as possible!

Automorph wasn't even this year's gimmick but they kept it around for Ironhide's legs.
Ironhide is porting a heck of a backpack but it actually works like a backpack storing all of his stuff.
The paint on his face is simple but effective.

Missing ankles really hurts this toy. His chunky calves force his legs apart so the outsides of his feet pretty much never touch the ground.
Other than that all the movement is good. Ironhide's got all the basics, included a ball jointed neck, a waist and wrists.

All the weapons make for a fun taste of gunbining. A lot of AoE Hound DNA to be found here.
The truck bumper forming a cross bow is good clean fun.

I actually did what your doing for my first full repaint about two months back. Wheeljack's definitely different from most Generations figures in that yes, it's his mask that splits from the head, not the head just splitting in half. So you are doing it right, but it's not a fun one to do.

If you turn the head carefully after moving everything out of the way you're not going to scratch it. On mine it's just a little dot, but still bothers me knowing that I could have prevented it. Nonetheless it also has a thin scratch on the windshield's red paint that was here from the beginning, so he wasn't pristine anyways.

Yes. YES. How did it take them this long to do a Cybertronian Bee when a couple of years ago, that was the whole point of the line!

Whatever, his classic gun and emerging rods are good accessories. My local Targets are still packed with this Bumblebee and Spike sets, so I'm guessing this won't be too hard to get.

the early Furman stuff was pretty bad and everything before they fuck off back to space in RID (like All Hail Megatro) is unreadable. MTMTE only got really bad later, but MTMTE and RID from issue 1 until Dark Cybertron are really good.

After that they can be safely discarded.

I mean, there's stress marks on his empty windshield holes and hinges inside his legs, some scuffing on his pipes, not-so-flush front fender thing, but I was lucky enough to not have issues with his logo or flame decal.. I think I stopped playing with classics and Kreon Hot Rod because their flame got scratched and I was inconsolable.

I've mentioned time and time again how it's a collective action problem - if everyone just stayed until some agreeable standard like an image limit or page - I dunno - seven 7, one lone rando would be making empty and eventually deleted threads. But nobody wants to be left behind, so the more IPs are visible in the new thread, the more people jump ship. With so many generals in one of the slowest boards, there should really be a rule about this. Oh well!
