Sculpt and paints are good. Articulation that depends, more active character usually have good enough articulation. Joints themselves are good quality. Price ehhhh that depends on how you feel about the character's worth to ya.

The problem with McFarlane is how they're constantly 10-15 years behind the rest of the industry in terms of engineering, and then they blow their whole budget on shitty paint that makes the toy feel even more gummy.

And then there are the scalptards who actually paid 5-10X more for this. I felt robbed paying $20 for mine, and there were people paying money that could have covered the Figma coming out.

I think I see the problem watching some review videos. The prints themselves seem light reflective. So when you want them to look like shading all the time you get angles where they reflect light and look like silver glitter or something. Having 95% of the face covered with them ain't helping either.

I think digital print for the detailed parts like eyes, but normal manual wash for the shading and showing the details of the face sculpt would be way better.

Their current situation is actually more like the opposite of this. They have all their articulation (as weird as their hip construction is), it's just that their paints aren't up to snuff anymore because the budget is spent elsewhere. Though, if Doom Slayer is your only experience with their more recent stuff, I can see why you'd think what you said.

Not that dude but to be fair, while they are pushing articulation for western figs in certain places, they're also shitting the bed constantly with every other release being embarassing or poorly designed in one way or another. It's shocking to see stuff like Bane when they made Peely 2 years ago. To my knowledge figma had like 3 major changes. First was the wrist joints. Also maybe mix in the elbow joints not being disks and rotational at some point. Then adding double joints for the knees was a big move in my book, but rarely used. Lancer was the first? Lastly digital printing. Didn't say they changed massively or anything, but among these minor changes the face painting is the biggest one so the before and after that for faces I think it matters the distinction.

Peely is a weird one to mention, because his torso couldn't get a whole lot of movement, just like Bane's legs. Something like Todoroki or Red Strike or even the more recent Geralt's torsos would be a better example of an overlay that barely impedes their articulation.

Depends, you can't notice much being first person, but the finisher moves can be involved, or even two-handing guns since he's so thicc. They need to have some level of workarounds for that basic level of posing. Mainly around the shoulders.

Typical figma will produce the doom slayer and nothing else, and hog the licence for a decade, like they did with bloodborne. Another company will come along later and make some demons, but none of them will scale with this slayer.

He's holding the super shotgun in the teaser, and I mean yeah it's a no-brainer; some have said he may have the same set of weapons the nendoroid had. Three pair of hands, unsheathed blade, probably a flame effect for the flame belch. A stand would be cool.

As for the scale, I'm getting my head around the idea of seeing it being on the japanese 1/12 scale (and you probably should). Can't remember where I read it, but the Slayer is supposed to be 7 feet tall, so he may end up being tall despite the scale.

If the super shotgun comes with a detachable meathook I will lose my mind.

Paint can look good/great on a pic and look total shit in hand. The vice-versa is true as well. Mcfarlane marines are perfect cheap custom fodder with servicible paint apps. Bandai favors
a bit morr articulation and the clean look which only works because new marines arent battle hardened vetetans yet.

Take Guts for example, he's a tall charater and he's one of the tallest figmas out there. He's not neca or mcfarlane tall but he still looks tall.

I'm not sure specifically how Ami operates, like if they set a cap, but in general how figma orders works is made-to-order. So each stores have like a month of ordering period and send that to GSC. And then GSC decides on how many to make based on that total order size. That's why figma have such a long period to release, because they start actual production later. Where as other places usually already started making them in factories by the time they open preorders. MAFEX might be made-to-order too.

If Ami keeps figma orders open for a while just like other stores they might be taking as many orders as they can in that given period.

Pretty clear the upper arms are too large or placed badly, that's mainly what's making the hands look small. If I had to guess, the figure doesn't have a proper bicep swivel, so in order to get the boxart pose, they had to utilize some ridiculous swing-out joint they implemented, which exacerbates the issue. The head seems too small as well, but that may be something you can fix with posing if they put a joint in the bottom of the neck; lean neck forward and tilt torso back a bit.

For Genji the sword was too short, even in the final promo pics. The sword that came with the final figure was of appropriate size.

I think they could have squeezed in the heavy cannon or the plasma rifle to give him a long range weapon. Unfortunately I don' think there are enough guns to justify doing an expanded line unless they dip into 2016's arsenal.

I haven't even played Eternal yet (or finished Doom 2016, for that matter) but all of these guns look pretty fucking boring to me. The only part that even slightly interests me is the chain and skull detailing on the upper right one.
