If a general is past the bump limit, and falls off page 1, the thread won't move fast anymore, fewer people will see it, and inevitably people will start making transformers threads that aren't generals.
This process is to keep the transformer talk to a few threads, since there's so much news it would fill up the board if there weren't generals
Whether or not users should check the catalog is irrelevant, the reality is, people wont.
Hell, am I the only one who remembers when we had 3 seperate generals, regular, third party, and bayformers? For a short time we had masterpiece generals too.
We got rid if those extras, but as a result the main general moves faster
ESPECIALLY since the leaks started happening in full force 3 years ago.

Starting new threads doesn't negatively impact ANYONE in this thread. It just bothers people that things aren't going their way. Life doesn't go your way.
