-Funko was a small company in the early 2010s. they were not as big as Neca or Banpresto or Mezco etc. Funko was known for bobbleheads. they almost went under a few times.
around 2010 they were brain storming into a product to appeal to females. to girl collectors, that's where Funko pop was created. it was meant to be like HELLO KITTY in a way. that is where the black eyes come from.
(it is literally a toy for GIRLS.... s o y men and avengers fans were never meant to be the target demographic. that was an unprecedented outcome.)
the first funko pops were hated by the funko bobblehead fans. they did not like that the heads were not bobble heads.
the company started making small production of funkos.
eventually the company was bought out by another company and the funko was push into over drive.
fter star wars and avengers were acquired by funko, the SO Y started.
the over saturation. the extreme prizes, the fact that every comic and toy store has them,
thank disney and avengers and star wars for the over saturation of funko pop.
They were NEVER meant to be corporate souless cash grab products when they started. that happened after they were taken by that other company.

this was done to cut on costs and keep things cheaper.( since they were created 10 years ago when the company was small.)
