ships in general are slow as fuck, going at like 25mph at max speed.
for submarines, you're basically going everywhere blind and need to estimate where you're traveling with your maps, even if you're not encased in glassless steel tubes, to avoid detection. oh, and you're going 20mph.
only reason we even use ships is because they're basically the only way to cheaply FERRY people and equipment around, including the fucking jet fighters.
Cargo jets and carrier jets are a billion times better and cooler.
Too bad they're fucking expensive, relatively easy to shoot down, and shit like pic is unrealistic.
747s and flying wing carriers that 60-70s aero-scientists were designing would be cool as fuck though.
