>>9168084>HoundThe best Hound figure is the one by Iron Factory because the IDW-ish design, even though I don't care about the IDW fiction, allowed them to incorporate the great engineering the figure has. The Sunbow designs especially the ones modified by Floro Dery from Takara sketches are generally next to impossible to design a toy around if you want all the modes to look perfect, unless you incorporate a degree of partsforming which tooners, unsurprisingly, also despise.
>Optimus PrimeThe best MP ones are the ones from Magic Square and Transform Element, while for official I still prefer MP-10 over MP-44 and not just because of price. The Magic Square one even managed to use the same grill for both bot and alt mode, but tooners still shit on it for "having weird proportions". They are just pissed off Fans Toys haven't made one tailored specifically to their wildly inconsistent standards, which is actually appropriate because it reflects how terribly done the Sunbow animation was. That's not a knock on FT themselves because they, like any other 3P company, have done both hits and misses but their Galvatron was great. Unfortunately the very same tooners have also been enabling their current business model of creating artificial scarcity.
Now look at what Takara can do when they're not stifled by Hasbro and the autism of the Transformers brand with Diaclone Reboot. Great engineering and thoughtful designs all around in spite of their size. Ironically enough Transformers only came about because Hasbro rebranded the original Diaclone toys.
