I expect we're going to get a FFF next week since the movie is out this Friday. I'm just hoping at the very least they announce Storm Shadow. But others I'd like to see:

Yes but I mean more of the measure of them supporting it. Hasbro usually tends to let their brands slide into majority exclusivity when the following isn't strong enough to hold on the market, such as previous Joe lines being TRU only and no where else.

Yup that seems to be the case in USA. Funny enough Hasbro India doesn't seem to have that policy. I am working here on a project rn and it's been super easy getting the CI figures. Heck snake eyes and red ninja were the most difficult to find. But they haven't gotten any wave since Zartan, not sure why.

Toy scene in India is really niche. Reminds me of 90's-00s toy scene. There is only one mass toy retailer here and Hasbro makes most of its action figures sales through Amazon/other online retailers.

It's not marketed as the vamp but makes use of the vamp mold. Doesn't come with the turret, probably to avoid copy right or maybe they only have licensing to make non military version? It does say hasbro in the undercarriage. Will post pics later. Here's something off the net. There's 3 versions from what I can tell. Red = Racing, Blue = Cops, Green = Army

In India, there was something about the Sgt Slaughter character, where they couldn't call him Sgt. Slaughter, so they called him "Super Cop," and made him like a highway patrol cop and repainted a vamp to be his police cruiser. Funkskool is weird with the vehicles.

Oh forgot to answer your question. No they aren't. At least from what I know. See>>9183312. Action figures aren't as huge as back home but there is a decent sized market. You get almost all mainline stuff from Hasbro and Mattle. Maybe on the McFarlane, Neca, Jazzwares and Co. Lot of Tomy stuff. Found a lot of Pokémon stuff here.

Right now we're still dealing with the fact that Hasbro had to go "halfsie" with everything they had planned to release for GI Joe a year ago. It's a miracle any retailer even took up the exclusives, considering how the last time GI Joe products were on the shelves at Target and Walmart was for Retaliation and Retaliations delay soured the fuck out of Target and Walmart. That basically killed the GI Joe line, with TRU's exclusives basically being only being left overs from when the line was still in full production

The worst part of the movie is the McGuffin, the Ninja clan owns some artifact that has flat out magical powers and it's completely autistic and does not remotely fit with the rest of the story's tone. That's rather maddening however because even in other media we have had Lex hate Superman for a wide variety of reasons, from overshadowing him to out right foiling his underground business Lex has had a broad amount of versions in terms of Character. It's not to mean they have to give these people half hour backstories but even in that awful 90s Street Fight movie I still understood Raul Julia's M.Bison character's goal and motivations were. I'm not nitpicking you to be a cunt, but I don't think that is a worthwhile virtue to storytelling. It'd be appreciated if it were a sequel, but for a reboot, it's just lacking. They didn't use established knowledge to do anything creative within the story, just used it to take a shortcut around writing.

I think they look fine personally, but I won't know til I get them. I don't think you can call them an improvement, but that's just because the PoC ones were so good. At the very least, we haven't had a good officer yet, so I think he'll have a place among PoC troops, even if you don't want the new troops.

I don't mind a lack of uniformity in my ranks, but I'm sure that's not everyone.

The point of this figure is just to re-use it over and over again to do the original 13 Joes. It's pretty clearly why they did Stalker and Grunt. They're doing the same thing with the Cobra Trooper/Officer body, which they went too far with. It's got all sorts of gear sculpted on clearly intended for other characters, such as the little gadget on the upper thigh that serves no purpose except to be used for pilot figures.

They invested in two bodies just to re-purpose multiple times. I'd expect to see a Vamp, which will be repurposed as a Stinger with a Stinger Driver in the future since it's another repaint for the Cobra Trooper mold, and they're going to repaint vehicles in the line, as evidenced by the Hiss III.

I can live with them using the new, inferior troopers on a new driver, even though the PoC ones are perfect and should've been available with every case of 3.75 since their first appearance. But almost anything's better than the 25th sculpt and helmet.

I got the Fang in the mail today. The reviews honestly don't do the new figures justice. The Fang driver, and I imagine Stalker, Grunt, and the new figures using these new bucks, are the best figures Hasbro has made in a long time from a playability standpoint. The headsculpt on the Fang pilot is amazing, the articulation is perfect, and the direction they went with the vests and web gear is perfect. Having removable vests and gear was cool but they always seemed to be molded in a way that hampered the range of motion of the figure. On the Fang pilot it's a separate piece but fits tightly enough not to really interfere with the range of motion of the arms. My test for articulation on a military figure is how close to a realistic handgun shooting grip and stance can they take and the Fang pilot does better than any Hasbro figure so far. I can't wait to get the rest of them and this is most joy I have had about GI Joe in ten or so years.

Frankly, if they could keep a handful of bucks of this quality and switched over to doing some crazy shit like Extreme or Sgt Savage with these I would still be down for it. In fact, I think doing that in a way which meshes with these new retro RAH figures would be pretty sweet. Shit, with this articulation they could actually hold traditional rifles correctly.

Also, do you get the Tennessee magazine? If you do, do you look for the flag inside? That little game they’ll usually do in each issue (expect sometimes in April, for April Fools Day).

It’s funny, because when you’re going down a major highway, when building an overpass or an off ramp, they’ll sometimes put the Tennessee flag in the side of the structure, so if I’m with someone while driving, I’ll say something like, “Hey, look, I found the flag.”

I can’t seem to find any pictures of it being on overpasses and such, but maybe my Google-Fu is lacking today,

I just got Lady Jaye and Flint.

Flint is pretty much what you see in any pics of him. He looks great, but he's annoying to handle because getting him to use his shotgun is less than ideal. He wants to use it left-handed, but either on his left or hight hand it's difficult to pull off convincing poses anyways. The vest doesn't help. Nice figure, but just not the most fun dude around.

By contrast Lady Jaye's articulation, lack of obstruction, and just as importantly her spears lend the figure well for fun poses. A couple things could have been done better and I'm tempted to try and give her hip joints more inwards range, but she's a very satisfying figure to pose.

My first wave Snake-Eyes has a weird dimple in the back of his head. Heat doesnt seem to fix it, so I contacted Hasbro and they said they have no other Snakes to replace it with. Anybody know how I might go about fixing it?

Breaker with RAM finally showed up on toysrus.ca early this morning. Ordered one for pickup and then got a cancellation email as soon store opened. Hopefully. I'm worried that because they are so thin, if I apply heat to weaken the glue, they may just end up tearing. It's gonna have to be something to work slowly at I guess. I kinda wish they they were just removeable like CI Roadblock's or the movie version.

I originally passed on CI Roadblock but got him during this restock to justify shipping and ended up liking him a lot. Although I'm using him as Heavy Duty like most people. I still don't have a standard Roadblock yet

So far the only characters I'm missing besides a core RB is Gung-Ho and now Breaker, though I'm probably not going to grab them because I hate how big Gung-Ho's head is and neither of them were really in my core team of Joes anyway. Though that might change if I find Gung-Ho on sale like Flint just was.

The money spent on that shitty movie could've been spent on a cartoon, even an OVA or animated movie. I'm just glad movie merch didn't creep into the 3.75 stuff, Hasbro doesn't need any more excuses as to why it won't sell.

Even if an OVA had the exact same plot, pace and sound as that PoS, at least there would probably be color, and the figures would theoretically be better for it.

Every company thinks they're fucking Marvel these days, and try to play every angle and every market all at once. Marvel has money, name-recognition, simplistic trash even the CPD doesn't block, experience, and luck. Hasbro appears to have absolutely none of these, at least when it comes to Joe.
