Looking for best and earliest comic accurate spiderman.

Despite this actually being the spider-verse version, the sentinel looks pretty darned close.

Any better options?

mafex spiderman, they even did BenReily, and are doing a black suit. Considered to be the definitive spiderman figure by almost all anons, it's about 80 dolalrs for a legit one though, and that's if teh reissue is still available, Ben and black are going up for pre order soon i think,.

Unfortunately a stylistic choice by Mafex, possibly meant to replicate the Bagley/McFarlane artwork. It's not so bad once it get it under certain lighting.

I honestly don't mind the $300 late tax, money is of no consequence, i just want a nice looking and well articulated accurate version for display. So many mediocre options make it difficult.

What are the thoughts on the marvel select with the camera? The blue looks nicer.

This is why I bought the Mafex Spider-Verse, but I think the Sentinel looks better. Mafex with a custom head is pretty okay, I don't like Mafex's tendency towards Macfarlane Spidey.

Articulation is meh, but the sculpt and paint are gorgeous in person. There's a little mod you can do to improve torso movement as well. Honestly if he weren't so tall it would probably be my definitive spidey.

Ok, thanks guys for all your help. Probably one of the toughest toy related decisions I've had to make, but I finally settled on the AY.

There's just seem to be too many great poses who can get out of it, and the faces ooze character.

If mafex give us a alt. paint version in future i'll jump on it, but I really don't like the current one.

Given that AY is remaking the first figure in the line with Deadpoo 2.0, I think there is a decent chance they will do a spidey 2.0 as well in the next year or so.

Yeah, I considered that, but it was only $50 so I went for it. Hoping it will look good posed with my ML Hulk and Mafex Wolverine for now until we get a 2.0 or a better Mafex.

This. I never bought the Mafex, but I wish I got it instead of the Revo. The Revo feels more like novelty, but it's nowhere near definitive for me.

I do have the Hasbro Retro Spidey and the Mafex Peter B though >>9196914, so I'm pretty content.

Thanks guys. Seems like there is a lot of split decision (myself included). So in the end I went ahead and bought both.

I got the revo 2nd hand for around $45 and the mafex new for $100.

Both appear to be legit from trusted sellers, but I won't jinx it until I have them in hand. I'll do a comparison when they're down.

Yeah, the colours don't look perfect, so general consensus seems to be its the best.

Thought 100 was a reasonable price. Its import from a Japan seller, so fingers crossed its all legit and I haven't been robbed. May ask for more photos before they ship.

As the other anon pointed out, Spider-Verse Peter is also pretty good. But 90s Peter will always be my favorite version visually and there weren't many figures based on that design so finally having a definitive version was awesome.
I expect the price to shoot up in a few years so I think your timing getting it now is good.

This.There are what I think triple joints in the knees and a cutout in the back of the thigh for the calf to fit into which allows for a deeper crouch. Really interesting engineering and I have to admit it sets the Sentinel ahead quite a bit despite my personal bias toward Mafex

I have the Yamaguchi Spider-Man. Actually 2 of them. The first one had a bum leg that broke off at the peg. Pissed me off! Worse yet is I hadn't opened it for a long ass time, due to pneumonia twice and 2 hospital stays. However it had some great accessories and is IMO one of the top Spider-Man figures made.
