Thoughts on how the heck vintage Hordak's life was supposed to work? She-Ra episode 51, "My Friend, My Enemy": he learned magic from the wizard Noah. "Once I would have helped you, but you took all the years of training and magic I taught you and turned them all to evil." As of "King of the Snake Men", the mini-comics had an ongoing continuity that references Filmation. Hordak says he helped build the neutral Central Tower ("Enter: Buzz Saw Hordak!"). There's no indication of how long Central Tower stood before the Ancients sank them underground, which was before they banished Hiss himself ("The Ultimate Battleground!"). If the Horde wasn't always Evil, it was by the time Teela-Na was 15, based on the behavior of a scout ship crew that came to Eternia ("Origin of the Sorceress"). Some years later, Hordak and his pupil Skeletor stole baby Adora during a failed Horde invasion of Eternia. In She-Ra, it was repeatedly established that characters like Castaspella and Sea Hawk remember a time before the Horde conquered Etheria... but Noah lives on Etheria.

The vintage He-Man body was used to make three white guys, a black guy, a dark-skinned Asian, a blue guy, a purple guy, and guys in green, dark blue and white/lavendar and red/orange shirts and tights. They need a female buck that has as little detail as possible sculpted on to it, like a Barbie buck, that various harnesses or armor can be snapped to.

Right, the Teela/Lyn leotard is covered with very distinctive designs.
Looking at Kittrina, you see she has a plain blue leotard that the big collar would have to go over like Tri-Klops' harness, which he needs in addition to his weird head to be distinct from He-Man.
She-Ra has plain hips without that "leaf" jewelry, so the remaining part of the puzzle is a plain torso that armor or other coverings can snap over.

Got my Revelations He-Man & Skeletor the other day. Taking a couple of pictures with other figures for comparison. Also going to give a bit of review. One nice thing right off the bat is that the package for these figures are very MIB friendly. You just have to cut a piece of tape, slide the plastic tray out of the box, cut a couple other tape pieces along the tray and the figure comes right out with no straps or tape. Figure an be put back in the box when you're done with no rips or tears. Easy peezy.

>>9202423 Here's team Skeletor. I do have the ol' NA version of Skelly on hand this time.
>THE BAD There's something wrong with the torso proportions of both figures, but it's especially notable on He-Man. The torso is just too long and thick. The excessive amount of fur loincloth doesn't help either, as it visually lengthens the torso.(Along with hampering the hip movement.) The lower ab section is just too wide, giving He-Man& Skeletor a sort of barrel chest look. Those abs needed to taper down to a thinner waist, which is what the original & 200x figures did and looked far better.
The upper diaphragm joint is weird. It can move back & forth, left to right, but it can't twist. You can attempt to twist it, but it "snaps" forward back into place. At first I thought this was a nod to the original spring waists, but my common sense told me it was the ball joint stressing from the twist movement, so I had better stop before I broke He-Man. Even so, it'shard not to put some twist pressure on the diaphragm joint when you're twisting the waist joint underneath. I can bet you some ham-hand is going to twist off that upper torso very easily.
Worst thing is the hip joints. They're terrible, especially on He-Man.The rod that comes out of the crotch and ends on a ball joint is very thin. A lot thinner than your standard ML figure has. That's not good for a thicc legged guy like He-Man. I get a lot of resistance from swinging his legs forward. Like the ball joint is going to twist off. Again, it could be because there's so damn much of his fur loincloth hindering the movement. Still, it's not a "good" feeling when moving the hips.
Skeletor's hips, on the other hand, have a much smoother movement to them. So maybe it's a QC thing with He-Man having some stray bit of plastic rubbing inside the ball joint. This is not the first time I've had such a problem with a figure, especially with Mattel's DC line.

>>9203623 BTW, someone uploaded a performance of the Power Tour to Youtube.
https://youtu.be/p6nyQ7OmzBQ Skip to 12:15 for its version of "the oldest of tales", when Eternia was ruled by five wizards who performed pest control on the Snake Men, who "lacked only one thing, a leader to lead them, [until] one day, he came!" ... Hordak!
"Knowing full well that Hordak would indeed return, the wizards divised a plan. But it was one that called for the ultimate sacrifice!" ... transforming their bodies into the walls of a castle, Grayskull.

>>9206175 Origins is possible, eventually. Masterverse, probably not for a while unless we get some media with him in it. Hordak would also most definitely appear first, but if Horde Prime does show up in something, I could definitely picture him in Deluxe form like Skelegod.

>>9206175 >Do you guys think will Horde Prime get a figure in Origins We're getting Sun Man, and they filled a trademark for a character thst is almost certainly Songster.
Asking if ________ will get a character is almost pointless because it's shaping up thst literally nothing is off the table at this point. The only thing thst will prevent any character from getting in is line cancelation

I mean, there must be at least two levels of purist: those who like Prince Adam but hate him having a sister, and those guys who are always going on about "jungle He-Man"/"pre-Filmation".
Anyway, I strongly prefer the vintage fiction with Prime to that where Hordak is complete and independent leader of the entire Horde, because in the latter case the Horde is just a small group of hobos. I like the galactic empire.

Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>9206859 Few companies would comment on something like that. Never the less, it really does seem like the brand breaks in two and may cause a legal dispute.
Mattel has the toys and can make toy based things. Filmation made most of the Horde and She-Ra cast, so I believe those are lost. But what they do have is the original toys, She-Ra herself (I think) and I believe the Snake Men.
Universal has the She-Ra cast and the Filmation designs. They can license those out so long as the toys are Filmation based.
Universal might own 'He-Man and the Masters of the Universe' while Mattel owns 'Masters of the Universe'. Which may explain Revelations, they might want to distance themselves from He-Man and She-Ra due to Universal. We'll end up in a position where Mattel makes 'MotU' toys and say Hasbro makes 'He-Man' toys.
I think what may happen is that the brand being split in two and Mattel or Universal sues the other for complete ownership due to the confusion on pegs it'll cause. Not copyright theft persay, no theft involved, but the end result is adjacent to it.
