Someone really ought to make a spiritual successor to Battle Beasts. Mega Construx Halo shows that you can have 2" figures with removable armor and 21 points of articulation. Most designs could be done with a shared torso, armored hips, lower legs and forearms, upper arms/thighs in four different sculpts: smooth skin, furry, scaly, feathered, and half a dozen or so foot types (paw, hoof, elephant/rhino, bird, reptile, etc).
