Parts of the runner for F.O.X Long Range Striker Unit. It's always interesting to see MD and FAG parts mixed like this.
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>9212332 Since she's a BK variant she'll come with extra parts. The manual should mark all of the unused parts to give you an idea of which came from an older kit. This is pretty common for the industry. If something is a variant then it'll come with a bunch of parts from whatever it's a variant of. Heck, Sol Raptor comes with a mountain of parts from Hornet and Roadrunner. The downside is you basically never get the necessary internal torso/waist joint parts as extras though, preventing you from creating full girls out of your extras. I think, to this date, that Edelweiss-chan is the only one that comes with extra joint parts. Someone with a better memory can elaborate on that for me though.
>>9212540 It's kind of disappointing we don't see more DTA customs. Though, I guess they're more annoying to work with due to their size, so I guess that's understandable. I can 100% see the new Nabbit that's coming out in September or whatever it was getting a lot of customs though since she's already a desktop skanky out of the box.

>>9218012 I don't do it for -all- of my girls, but the few I put excessive customs work into. It's REALLY easy. Just carefully cut the eye hole and you're pretty much done. As for getting eyes, I get all of mine off of Booth because they've got a few sellers that make really cool ones, like demon eyes, robot eyes, eyes with hearts in them (perfect for Magical Girls/succubi), etc. Only problem is they sell out fast so you usually need to hawk the pages. Just search Booth for Megami Device or 1/12 and you should find them.

Have any of you ever gotten staining on your kits and shinkis? I know that it happens to PVC figures because PVC is porous but I want to know how the other types of plastic hold up or if dye can transfer onto a top coat.
Anonymous
>>9225854 Should depend on the dye used in the plastic. One of the best examples I can think of is the old ng 1/144 gunpla with red parts. The red was notorious for actualy bleeding through pretty much any light color you used outside acrylic paint. I'm no chemistry expert but I've always been under the impression its the dye in the porous plastic coming unbonded by thinner in the paint.
After a couple of hours drying my god gundam was pink.

After having her since she came out, Miku is FINALLY out of my backlog. There is some ugly gaps between the halves of her upper back and the collar flys off from wierd tension. All that is barely a problem, that stuff was fixed with a file and some cement. What was a problem was the pronged part that make up her hips being too short to hold the legs on when the thigh drop is used, they came right off with no resistance at all and I genuinely thought I had done something wrong at first. I was able to add 2mm of plastic to the ends of the prongs and now it works great. I like it. If not for the hip problem I think she'd be better than Wonder Woman out of the box. Also, I made a beam leek.

Cut the letter flag or any appropriately sized piece of flat runner into a 2mm strip then carefully glue the strip across the prongs. I recomend having it be one strip per side to assist in alignment, though you can use four smaller strips if you feel like it. Let the cement totaly dry, then trim and file the plastic down like in the picture.

Tamamo came in today. She has a shit ton of parts. I don't know what else to say, I've built the asra mold... 8 times now. There is only so much a nice color scheme and a couple of new parts can do to wow me at this point. The new parts are pretty nice. I dont particularly care for the masked face, but the new white parts are neat. I'd give her an 8 or an 8.5 out of 10. The asra mold in general is a strait out 8/10 to begin with, but tamamo has so much extra stuff with her its amazing, but I still can't see the asras as a 9... >>9248124 Nice work, I am still finishing off Koyomi, Hresvelgr Bikini Armor and Hresvelgr Bikini Armor Summer Ver. Will do both Kyuubi and Tamamo together after that. Ritsuka just arrived this morning so that is going into the backlog. Along with B colored top for my other Bullet Knight and a brand new Carbide Scrapper
Anonymous
>>9249824 You'll be better off in the long run just getting some cheap acrylic to do the panel lines. Same thing with small areas of grey and black. Plus paint markers are extremely difficult to apply evenly, even with a clean tip.
>>9249996 Cool, but needs a visor.
>>9250490 It ain't easy... be'n cheesy.
>>9250597 I need to have my ritsuka and titans shipped from hlj. Might wait till my Richettas come in though. Still kinda mad about the nightingale they didn't deliver on.
Anonymous
>>9250490 I thi k we were all expecting the yellow, so it does look pretty good. I hope the aftermarket gives us some larger TONY titties, though. Also, how does one approach painting joints like the ones in the tail? Seems like you'd want to lengthen the pegs a bit so the parts don't rub.
Anonymous
>>9249824 >Are gundam markers that good? I suck at painting and just want to add some details, so i'm curious about getting them. If you want to do panel lines then you're better off getting Tamiya panel wash. Infinitely better. The markers are fine, but those things are basically a newbie's entry tool/something you use before you learn about washes.
Anonymous
>>9251061 Depends on what part of the peg your refering to. Usually if it isn't a load bearing joint (like the tail joint) I make the joint incredibly loose. Not enough to fall out, or be floppy, but enough that it has almost no resistance when moving.

Its like her thighs are as big around as her waist...
>>9257406 I've done it for armor before, so long as the magnets aren't the source of the friction it should be fine, though I don't know how the longevity of the magnets are.
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>9257406 Problem is that you still need a source of friction, but not enough to lock the joint. Plus articulation would be limited by the magnetic poles.
People use to do it on the wirsts of the first gen FAGs - drill the arms for a small round magnet and replace the hand joint with a ball type. You can easily buy those online in sizes that fit.
You could probably try stuff like coating the ball type magnet in rubber dip to get some friction, but I´ve never tried any of.

My memory failed me, apparently. I thought that the concept art was more like the Ludens, but it turns out that they stuck to it rather closely.
The kit is apparently finally a solid entry, but the their basic Fiore bodies are all rickety as heck compared to what everybody else is offering. They still offer a lot of bang for the buck, what with the face plates being real cute and the kit coming with oodles of polycaps. But man, that could actually mean that there´s some chance they´ll release that Game Cock girl. Fuck year!
