I want 1 good venom figure. Can someone please tell me which one to choose (please do not use price as a factor)

Also, can anyone explain the differences in the chest marking. Which is more original/canon?

Either Mafex or the movie Venom ML.
I don't think we've really gotten a really good big venom yet, the revo is fun though.

All the markings have been used in comics at one point or another.
mafex is early Todd designs of him
revoltech is inspired by Clayton Crain but takes liberties with the eyes

If cost isn't a factor those are the two that you should consider.

For a normal-sized Venom, it's either ML from the Absorbing Man wave or Mafex Venom, depending on which look you prefer. Heddie is only good for the memes.

For a giant-sized Venom, I'd go for the deluxe ML Monster Venom. The Revoltech is alright if you're a posing/photography junkie, but it takes a lot of care to handle it and it's best treated as a delicate piece. I actually own the Revoltech and while it's nice enough, I regret getting it over the deluxe ML and now I'm just too lazy to chase it down.

Now if the ML Retro Venom is anything to go by, it's very likely that Hasbro will release a new one though so you could also wait and see as the new movie is coming out. Speaking of, there's also the ML movie Venom which uses a really nice body but no spider-markings.

Revoltech Venom makes for a good ultimate / monstered out Venom
Mafex Venom is a good hero / antihero venom thats pretty great all around
And Movie venom's marvel legends is surprisingly really fun to mess with.

thanks for all the advice guys. Seems general consensus is to go japanese instead of american.

Mafex looks nice, but at the same time I see a lot of negative reviews saying it's not big or bulky enough. Also I keep going back to pic related, so i'm currently swinging in the direction of the revo.

Yeah you can't go wrong really with either the AY or the Mafex. It's just which version of Venom do you prefer? A big goopy monster? Or a slightly more buff Spider-Man? Both figures are great it just comes down to which version you prefer. Hell, they're so different you could get away with getting both if you really wanted to.

Left two are solid (I have one of therm not sure which is which), next is mafex which is gorgeous but expensive the mole on the next to the right is perfect but that blue red shading is ass, monster Venom is okay, not familiar with right-most

Get the marvel select, there's two different versions with a total of like 8 different looks between all the heads available. Cucks here shit all over select but they're like $25 and based as fuck. Mafex is also good.

No they don't. I mean, I don't know about carnage, but spider-man was only $50 on mandarake and venom is still in stock at hobbysearch for retail.

Don't exaggerate. The going price for it is between $200-250. If it was really worth that then I would consider it, but seeing as it's reception was relatively lukewarm I don't think it's worth paying that much.

I feel the same about carnage, but think I should probably snag that one before it's too late just in case seeing as it's currently still retail.

I'm debating Carnage. He looks really fucking cool. I'm also debating throwing that 200 or so on Venom but that's a lot of money.

I just like the style of these figures because they remind me of when they first came into the spotlight when I was a kid before they all became Hulk monsters and everything was more sleek.

Got to agree with these anons. The select is superior in size, sculpt, playability, and price. Its only downfall is articulation, but their is still enough their to enjoy it. Untill something definitive comes along, my pick is still the select.

Probably the Revo, since nothing is made to be purple or blue anymore. There's a TV accurate ML coming out soon with the blue/red shading they used in that but he really doesn't look at much like PSX Venom. Just might be interested since I think everyone with nostalgia for those games was also watching the cartoon.
