Modded my IW to have his bare arms on the caped torso. I wanted a more comic-accurate look, I'm going to give him the Mjolnir from Endgame Cap (if he ever comes out at this point) and am hoping there's a third party long haired hair that comes out for him soon

It's not paint but some sort of topcoat from what I've read. You can remove it with alcohol without ever impacting the silver underneath.

They just do them like that. Batman's was the same. Maybe because a bendy one could break easily.

It goes on the gun. You can see the strap dangling from the rifle in the show. You can also secure the strap to two parts of the gun so it's not dangling.

Most of it is pretty straightforward.

I've only ever posed him like that, pic related.

I pose it with the scope facing out. Fiddly for sure but a much more elegant solution than the figuarts.

It was on the prototype too. They just laid it on a lot heavier in the final copy. Not a big deal since it's easily removable with alcohol.

Oh yeah I also had my endgame iron spider arrive and used the spare head from the original version on him. The external legs on this one are the complete opposite of the original and there is no QC issue with em at all

Yeah that's the problem I'm having.
She's probably the best Catwoman we'll get for awhile but she is so bare bones she just doesn't seem worth it.
I'm having the same issue with Mafex's Joker.

No doubt the AY one will pose better and it comes with way note accessories but I just don't like the design and the face they gave it.
Mafex's isn't perfect in the looks department either but it's closer to what I'm looking for.

She's pretty great, all of her joints are tight but move really smoothly, one of the best Mafex figures I have, no QC issues. But definitely not worth the price unfortunately, especially a shame since the Hush line sells out before they get a discount
For the price the could have made the whip more poseable or given it interchangable parts, other companies give you more for less

That's my feeling too after getting her. No major problems at all but very bare for the pricetag. They should have included a backpack or other accessories. If she was about $40, that would have been a justified must buy.

Medicom needs to rethink their pricing. They're getting as bad Figma now, and also expecting customers to play the QC roulette is inexcusable.

Unless they're using different pegs for each leg I doubt it's any weaker than the other one. The only explanation is these people are trying to force a frozen joint put of the box instead of heating it up and rotating it gently. None of the youtube reviewers have broken theirs.

YES the capes are different. Same design and size but they're different material. The blue is quite thick, which can be cumbersome to make look natural. It's thickness also contributed to the cowl piece being broken if you're not careful. The black is much thinner and more manageable. It also feels less "blanket-y".

Decent. Great accessories. Not as good as the Catwoman body but the Marvel Legends release was horrible so if you like the character, there you go. I got it because I enjoyed Hastings' original run. The only figure I didn't get from those releases was the Giruhiru Deadpool because it didn't really line up with what he did in that run, I think it was just based off a cover or something.

I'm so fucking confused by the inclusion of the proton cannon. It's the wrong armor to begin with, and I believe the "proton cannon" is non-canonical anyway, it was a Marvel vs. Capcom invention based on a throwaway nameless weapon in one comic panel.

While I know this is probably a stretch since toys are planned pretty far in advance and it's doubtful Medicom is actually trolling around American toy forums for feedback, it FEELS like a desperation move to rope in more gaming casuals since everyone has been bagging on this figure and praising Hasbro's (admittedly excellent) retro Tony. It's not within the realm of impossibility for them to have fast-prototyped this for the promo shots within the last few weeks I suppose, especially since the actual release date is next year.

That's not even remotely true. MvC has never been popular in japan, not even remotely comparable to the rest of the world. Japan is into the MCU and there is a subculture at best of collectors over there who are into the comics that they can get translated. And the above poster is right, this is completely the wrong armor and proportions for an MvC take on Iron Man.

MvC always has and always will be an american game marketed towards americans. Japan forgot about it after 2002 and trying to think that comic otaku culture is entirely based around videogames is a fucking crock. If the Mafex line was meant to appeal to MvC fans, it'd actually be using aesthetics and designs that evoke the early VS games or 3, ie: what Revoltech is doing. They've done almost nothing except for strictly comic designs based off of hyper specific artists.

I got a Batmobile on the cheap, with the Inyentions of using it for Mafex Batmen. DKR being the bulkiest fits in pretty well. The canopy is able to close. Would probably fit Hush Batman even better.

It's no fucking contest honestly. ML Holo Tony actually looks great in person, the high-gloss plastic they're using really pops and satisfies my craving for shininess. And ultimately, that's what the Mafex had going for it in my book: the shininess. It does have other visual niceties like a better headsculpt, more accessories, pinless joints, etc. but these things are not worth an additional $130 to me.

This is really what clinched it for me. I like Mafex's character/license choices a lot, and when they do good, they REALLY do good. But fuck, being a fan of this line feels like playing Russian Roulette. And at these prices, that's more than I can put up with.

I know, I totally get what you'r saying, but my obsessive compulsiveness prevents me from mixing lines....to be fair, I'm only planing on getting a few Marvel figures, just the top of the want list, Iron Man, Captain America, Wolverine, Spider Man, then that's about it. I'm trying to pair back my collection to the bare minimum and usually just one definitive representation of the character so I don't feel as bad going for this version.

On another topic. I do want them to make another pass at the Spiderman figure at some point, with a better paint job, since the murky colours don't really match the rest of the line, a bright and vibrant red/blue would look great, and that Ben Parker head would look good in brown.

We'll get the Spidey's using their existing molds with some alterations as 2.0s, and a new Tobey Spider-man. We'll also get the main villain. But they don't really do entire cast line-ups so I doubt we'll get the six.

I doubt we'll get any import figures of characters like movie Lizard or Rhino. The Spideys are definite and probably Gobbo (which is who I want most at this point), Ock's tentacles might make companies cautious.

Bro, this is not the hobby for you, best quit now. QC issues are a fact of life for collectors and certainly with MAFEX figures in particular. Having something as minor as acouple of tiny scratches on a joint is honestly nothing compared to how bad it can get.

Marvel always gives concept art to figuarts so their figures can coincide with the movie's release. Mafex waits until the movie is out and bases their sculpt based on what's in the movie.
That's why their shit is always more accurate but takes forever to come out

You'd need to change the cape with a purple one.

And Magneto also has a purple neck, but he's also sometimes got a red neck as well so you can probably get away with just the cape.

All of the black looks completely smooth and has no texture which doesn't match up with the cloth. Should have either sculpted texture everywhere to try and match the cloth or just done soft rubber for the robe. They got it right with Darth Maul.

looking to get the Batman/Carrie Robin set just for the Carrie figure and then resell the Batman, think it's still worth it? Could I recoup enough from that so I'm not spending 150 on a Robin fig?

Plan on getting the black suit TDKR Batman to do the pose accurately (and I just prefer grey/black Bats)

These would be my first Mafex figures

I was also considering cheaping out and getting the DC Multiverse Carrie and doing this Boom Boom headswap

Yeah, it should be pretty easy to sell the Batman. He's the main one people will want out of the set.

I prefer more of a clean look, so I'm taking the head of the battle damaged and putting it wth the clean blue version.

They're holding up okay, though I had to treat both with shock oil to prevent the joints from breaking. My Superman also had qc issue where his cape is longer on one side, but thankfully it isn't too noticeable once posed.

I don't think the comic shading quite works perfectly, but that's my choice by default because the first version looks fucking dirty. The shading they did on the red parts, plus the offputting shade of metallic blue + more shading, just makes him look fucking filthy. I love McFarlane's Spidey, but that paintjob was a dealbreaker.

Well, that and he has Mafex's typical problem with hands that are tiny and poorly sculpted. I just hate the way they do handsculpts, they almost always look terrible and awkward.
