How do you guys store your figures when they're not on display?

Imports I just keep the boxes, same for any special editions or whatever. For mass release stuff I just use like ziploc bags but the material isn't good for long term storage. You'll want to look up whatever kind of bags are safer for long term if that's what you want.

Not op What about cabinets, how well do they fare against dust? I arranged my Mcfarlane dc figs all lined up in a box, all of them standing, there wasn’t much wiggle room and there’s a lot of risk of paint transfer and dust etc but all that shouldn’t be a problem with a decently sized file cabinet or something right?

Similar to >>9237629 I keep boxes for imports but there are very few import figures I don't display. For western stuff I keep figures I don't have on display in plastic totes. Bigger guys on the bottom with smaller thinner ones on top. Works fine for stuff like Marvel Legends.

All my figs are constantly on display. My collection is quite small though (2 dozen Nendos and a dozen of figmas, with some 1000toys).
But the boxes were still creating space issues, so I put the parts not in use into stackable cases from the home improvement store with some cotton for padding

Display cabinets? If so ususally you can just put some weather stripping on the gaps and reduce your dust there.

If you're talking about storage if they're already bagged you're not likely to have dust problems.

Typically, to make it easier, I only resell import figures and put them up for auction (I don't really care about getting back what I paid for them) and if they're domestic toys (or japanese sofubi) I donate them.

I use the same piece for accessories and extra pieces for lego sets. also Ikea has KUGGIS bins that are also good. I made some custom labels with my circuit and use them for Transformers accessories and Lightning collection accessories along with some loose GBA and DS games

Pretty fucked if they have been stored for a long while. They just melt the top coat of plastic and makes them oily.

They're fine. Ideally you want to let them breathe so punching a hole in each bag will solve that. Toys don't start degrading that quickly, usually it takes like 10 years of being completely suffocated for them to start to leak plasticizer. Just be sure to punch some holes in those bags and you'll be fine.

Just because something isn't substantially damaged doesn't mean it's not damaged. Most collectors are looking to prevent even the smallest blemishes. I hope you don't have any plans to resell because your collection will be worth less than shit.
