Yeah, this. No idea how cheap it will get but you need to maximize supply to get the lowest price, and that will only happen when people first get them in-hand and rush to get them listed. People will be too impatient to time the market with their sale, so they’ll list it immediately and some may even mark it down to only 2x the initial price, because to them, that’s still a lot of money.
I’m planning to scoop up Prime Sentinels at this time as well.

The point is I shouldn't have to hide them at all. I don't mind him posting toys since he does have one of the nicer displays on the board, but I don't need a status update every time he gets a new figure. It's one thing when showing off newly released figures, like he does in the DB thread, that's fine. It's another thing to post the same empty shelf but with a new figure. If he waited until he filled it out a bit more it's be less obnoxious.

I know the bracelet around his waist isn't ideal or perfect, but I like it. It was a quick solution and a bonus is that the longer chain loop is perfect for holding the gun holster. I had to pull the bottom half off and was a little concerned putting it back on. A little heat helped but was still a pain. I wasn't too happy at first ordering the cape and tunic which amounted to 30 dollars total, but it really did improve the Doctor by a fair bit.

I know the F4 wave is coming out but I've never really been into them. With the improved Doom I was thinking maybe I should pick them up but eh, I just like Doom more so I think I'll pass.

Finally got my Falcap in from the D+ wave and wow the paint is dogshit. Might be the worst painted Legend I've gotten in a while. The star on his shoulder's all misaligned and the white paint is messy, as is the blue in certain places. Would it be worth trying to find another one? I got 2 at my local Target to test them out: the one with the best moving joints has slight blemishes on his legs, as you can see, nothing deal breaking, but still
The other has way more awkward arm joints but not as bad as the right shoulder on the Pulse one I got, but the blemish on his chest is pretty severe
I'd try to swap the legs on the new one, but god knows if a boil and pop would be enough to get the legs off, those ball joints are pretty deep

Cape I got from daredevil_19 on instagram. He doesn't have the capes in stock at the moment but you can message him to see when he will. I like his cape over others because they add a small strip of fabric that wraps around the neck so the cape doesn't hang by the gold chains. The tunic was a cheap 5 dollar thing off ebay with free shipping. I don't mind that his head still has the plastic hood it came with since it looks fine and dd19's cloth cape matches the color pretty closely.

As for the tunic the only piece you have to worry about is the skirt looking thing. His torso is just green plastic. This video at the 3 min mark gives a run down of how to get the skirt off the body. I went a step further since I had to use a make shift belt and exacto knifed the gun holster off the skirt. https://youtu.be/UFRywU625NY?t=180

Thanks. I wanted him to look most accurate to his depictions but not knowing a ton about DOOM I assumed if it came with it on then that's how it was meant to be. One of these days I'll read comics on characters I like the gist of. Yeah this is a more grounded complaint. After a ten year build up and then Endgame it's going to be hard to recapture what it took such a long time to build up. The multiverse being a thing now makes me think it should get pretty interesting, but I think it'll take time. There's characters I for sure want to see pop up. Spidey, Strange, and Guardians are what I'm looking forward to.

Alright, Mk 3’s here. Honestly? He kinda sucks. Tiny arms, fat legs, mushy sculpting, and the paintwork’s pretty bad - the gold paint’s unevenly applied and the faceplate’s got… brushmarks or something. The red plastic’s got some weird marbling going on too, and the inner rib detailing is painted gold instead of silver for whatever reason. Compared to the Mk 7, he’s just really underwhelming.

I put him back on the shelf after the deluxe reveal, to see if really wanted to get the new version. I do. Also to see if I had suitable weapon for him to use, something similar to the one he used on the ferry. Rocket's gun looks nothing like it but it's the closest I have.

The shoulders did bother me a little at first but seeing as there shouldn't be any gold visible there, I've just come to accept it.

I really don't like Ironheart, the chracter and design both, she was the one figure in the wave I felt I was being forced to get to build Ursa Major. However, Modular Iron Man makes such a strong impression it's got me hype for all the figures in the wave, even her.

Same. It being a Target exclusive though, I'm left hoping a UK base store manages to get some stock.
The new one will need a bit of paintwork to make it look right though, a wash on the collar and heavy black wash on the jacket but those legs and arm attachment are such a huge improvement over the original. I really wish it came with the Michael Keaton head that the original was apparently supposed to have.

So since you mentioned this I went and fiddled with him and you were right. The joint the ball sits on on the neck has never wanted to move for me on any figure I own. Pushed a little harder than normal with the Modular joint and it finally moved. Why are they such a pain to get to move? So much so that until today I've never once been able to get them to. Either way I'll have to fiddle with some other necks and see if they have more range than I thought, thank you.

Yeah, I get that, but even if you wanna pose her on an almost standing upright hydra stomper (instead of one lying on its stomach) you're still stuck doing a mirror image pose of the one in the show.

On top of that, you can't have her posed in front of the stomper saluting or holding a gun/sword.

Not adding her sword was disappointing. Not like it's a huge spoiler for the show. It's just the closest weapon she could get a hold of. It's not like with Worthy Cap where they cleverly hid his hammer behind the shield to avoid spoilers either. If they added the extra hands as you or the other anon suggested you could easily just give her any ol' sword and call it a day.

It's things like that that have me convinced there's zero communication between the various Hasbro teams. Transformers was using a soft and flexible plastic that could still hold detailed sculpting back during Age of Extinction. It would be perfect for Marvel Legends hair and capes for ML.

I find it more unbelievable that marvel legends are so cheap, even with the lack of accessories and limited articulation. See stuff bin for $10 seems crazy.

For most licensed or official anime figures at least the quality of the mold and paint or other coloring and the materials are all noticably better than a cheap knockoff of the same thing. The anime and manga industry is also not as lucrative as big stuff like Marvel/Disney so they may have to charge more to justify the amount of profit they'd make from what they're able to produce.

In a lot of anime aired on TV they have to redraw shitty rushed or 3D animated scenes for the Blu-Ray version; comparison videos for stuff like fight scenes are available on YT to show the differences between them these days; the production schedule for anime is so nits that they can't always put out the highest quality product on the proper schedule so the Blu Ray is also a way for fans to be able to have access to a literally better version of the anime, especially since Crunchyroll or other legal anime streaming sources are nonexistent or few and far between in Japan.

I mean, sure. I think I've see someone post one with a wash and some custom work, and it did look a ton better. Any paint or wash you apply is going to come off with handling, unless you top coat it, and sometimes, depending on the surface your applying it to, the top coat wont hold up against knocks, and certain won't hold up around joints that tend to rub. Basically, if I were to customize it, I would end up barely handling it ever again, and what the point of owning an articulate figure if I'm not going to have fun handling and posing it?

More parts, meaning more molds had to be made. No or very little reuse from other figures, generally they're all new sculpts, meaning they have to make all those molds from scratch each time. It's not as simple as "b-b-buh they're both just plastic" it's what goes into the cost of making that plastic into a figure

More sales means more money, more fans buying more figures, etc. Plus why make a mold you never intend to use again? But yeah they're probably going to reuse the Retro mold eventually, they definitely didn't make that one for a one-off. But for some reason they haven't yet so people are speculating it's because it's more expensive. I was thinking about this earlier. I think if he stretches quickly, it'll look less weird. In the movies before he usually stretches slowly and awkwardly which really emphasizes the goofy looking CG. So like if he throws a punch, instead of stretching then punching, it's one fast movement like a frogs tongue.

It's more expensive because it has more parts. Literally 1 more part, the extra hip joint, to give the figure the drop down hips. Realistically the extra production cost for that body, over the Sunfire body, would be negligible and is very unlikely to be the reason we've not seen it reused.
I'm sticking with >>9243977 as the reason. Hasbro took a lot of shit for how bad that neck joint was, I could definitely see them retooling it.

The double barbell neck is terrible. It didn't gain all that much in sideways tilt range, and it gave up one of the best neck joints in all of toydom. Japanese figures tend to have more PoA which means more individually molded parts and more joints. The figures tend to have better paint application and come with more accessories. Diecast, when implemented well, is a nice addition. I will always mention Bandai giving the TMNT diecast lower legs being one of the best decisions they could have made with those figures. It gives them a lower center of gravity and makes them a dream to balance.

I think in terms of success, they hit the same amount of backers at around the same time. It's just the Sentinel only needed like 6000 backers. If they dropped Galactus to 8 or 9 thousand backers it would've been fine. They definitely overextended on this.

The effect itself is pretty legit but I don't really even use it that often. The Select itself is actually a pretty superb rendition of Modern Thor. Much better than the Legends equivalent from the All Father wave. He's the modern Thor I use when I wanna switch up my Avengers display to more modern costumes.

The Deluxe release is shipped with the back plate off to fit into the package and that part doesn't clip in very well so you can pretty easily remove it, and on some samples it has trouble staying in. I imagine any kind of slight coat of pinesol or anything will make the pegs get the friction to stay in. I've messed around with his limbs and they don't come apart easily on mine, but YMMV. Best of luck with him, he's a nice chonky boy who absolutely towers over most figures.

I should have worded that more carefully. The actual retro Spidey figure is the one that isn't still available everywhere. Everything else from his wave is, but the Spidey is now sold out everywhere (I think). The Fixit figures and even the Demogoblin figures are still readily available.

It's the best ML Daredevil by a wide margin, definitely worth a purchase, especially if you like the costume.
If you do get the toy though, be sure to widen the hole on the Murdock head a little with a dremel or heat. It's a few mm smaller than the ball-joint and so tight you can snap the neck joint when trying to move it.

Also, I found another use for the plastic throw aways from the tamashii stands. I snipped a couple stick pieces and if you own the figma genos, the blast effects fit perfectly.

Yes, very. It's the best Iron Man and a pretty strong contender for best Marvel Legend of the year, or ever.

On a side note, Hasbro, you can stop now trying out different shades of red and gold for every Iron Man. You nailed it with Modular, just do that from now on. Unless you're doing a comic style red and yellow, in which case use the red from Modular and the shiny yellow from Iron Man 2020.
