>>9246433Given the preorder model, we actually don't know how they'll be charged, and they don't either. Super7 probably charges their $55 "expecting" the lowest possible run at the factory (thus the most expensive) plus whatever profits threshold they want to make (it is undeniably high, but with their Reaction it's even higher). So let's say these The Worst just meet that minimum threshold through preorders, they'll still cost $55. Meanwhile, imagine, to no one's surprise, something like TMNT far exceeds that minimum through preorders, and while it isn't quite reaching retail production levels, let's say it still goes up a tier or two in terms of deals from the factory, now they're still charging $55 while paying a lot less per unit in manufacturing.
At the end of the day, it's a business, and they found customers willing to pay their high prices (just like import companies have), and because of that, there's no reason for these companies to lower their prices, other than as entry point items or an attempt at goodwill (which probably won't move the needle enough that it'd be worth the trouble, and would also introduce the idea of "why aren't they all cheaper", which I'm sure no company wants to deal with).
