>>9241945i'm focused on transformers and while i still appreciate them and they do bring me joy, i will occasionally get the odd random figure if it looks neat and is inexpensive or on sale.
when i started it was tunnel vision transformers, then i found out about toylines i had essentially missed out on from that timeframe.
as a toy collector i think it is important if you just stumble across a random figure that looks neat, to treat yourself on occasion to rekindle that inner child sense of fun. otherwise it can become kind of a drag cycle of hype, spend then waiting for the next wave.
this sometimes 'backfires' like with fortnite, lightning collection, junk bots and marvel legends on half price clearance, where i end up getting the whole wave or team and start mini collections on the side.
i will consciously call myself out though, like 'hey wait i don't care about star wars THAT much, snap out of it'
i've been exercising my strength of will lately - i really like the house of x moira alternate outfit but i've been stopping myself.
I also make myself cancel pre-existing pre-orders if i come across something i like more, just yesterday i cancelled studio series grindor to get kingdom t-wrecks
