Are figure stands necessary for you? I've been only looking at JP figures, but I've been interested in checking out Star Wars Black Series figures too, but I have been turned off because I don't assume that anything that's "cheap" or from a big store can stand/pose well on it's own.

Do you buy extra figure stands for that stuff?

Had a few from buying figures that came with tamashii stands and other things like Revoltechs. I wouldn't say they're required but if you enjoy sprucing up displays, taking better photos and getting more play value they're totally worth it. Bought 6 tamashii stands last month just to help out with one of my displays and now I want more just to have on my desk for taking small shots.

I only use them for pictures, especially the ones that are jointed for such a purpose, otherwise i dont give them to my shelf toys if they can stand up fine already. Theyre better as a freebie but not something id buy.

Black Series stuff usually stand on their own just fine with a few exceptions like K-2SO because he's top heavy with tiny feet.

I only use stands for aerial poses like pic related.

General obitsu or tamashii nations stands will do the job for most flying poses. If you need just regular standing poses I'd stick to stuff like canofbeams where he has inserts for the pegs of the figures or cheap ko stands that will hold at the waist. You can get those from aliexpress.

I'd ignore most of the other anons bashing the hasbro shit, they fuck up a lot (particularly LC) but you can get a more complete collection instead of one fig every 6 months.

Even for normal stances, having a stand is nice for complete sturdiness.
If there's a figure with a particularly fragile looking part, like a thin horn, I'd recommend getting a stand.

I didn't realize I needed figure stands until I started buying figure stands. That said, most of my figures don't have any balancing issues, so I mostly use them for flying/jumping poses, but it's nice to have them for the extra stability as well.

Depends on the character mostly.
For something like a Warhammer figure, I don’t plan to ever get it into any arial poses.
Though for something like Figma Parah? Yeah I’d say a stand is a good addition both for aerial poses and normal poses. Same goes for the Android 21 I have.

Off topic but I absolutely love these things. They're cute as fuck.
Anyway, Tamashii stages and Obitsu stands are good. You can also get build-your-own Tamashii stage KOs on Amazon for dirt cheap, though they are slightly bigger than legit ones. The quality is fine though and assembly is easy enough.

This. Once you start getting really dynamic poses with leaping, flying, and lunging, you won't want to go back. You don't even need fancy stands, there are cheapass bundles on Amazon that'll do just fine.

Yeah, (but I got interested in them due to someone drawing fanart of them as thicc girls).
I will have to get some stages and Obitsu stands when i can

FYI, with enclosed shelving like this, you can usually rig up pins or nails to prop up you figures. It makes it nearly impossible to get an angle where you can see what's holding it up.

That being said, this is a nice pose

They rarely ever included them, I think you're confusing them for Figma or something.
And even then, just buy the KO Tamashii stands. I bought mine for a $1.25 each or something.

Yeah, the Tamashi Act 4 stage is the bulwark of my figure displays, with the Act 5 doing the heavy lifting for bigger figures like Kong who I couldn't get the Act 4 to reliably support in a leaping pose. I have thought about picking up some Obitsu stands because they have bigger claws than the Tamashii stands which is their only real flaw, well that and the fact that you generally have to buy them separately which seems ridiculous for figures like Kong or Godzilla.
