Three regions: China. Japan. USA.
China usually stands by itself officially, but their stuff is found in island and penisua asia, because China doesn't care about licensing agreements and laws.
Japan is usually by itself, but can be lumped in with Korea and island Asia.
USA usually includes Canadia and hispanic Americas.

Euroland used to be a mix of different regions, but since EU happened, it's... still a mix of different regions for some reason. They don't make toys more cmoplex than stackable bricks.

100 was a stretch for the normie marines, but literally doubling the price for the whacky-ass looking grav armour? Yikes.

I'd consider 200 for a proper Terminator, maybe full Grey Knight to scale. And I'm glad they're feeling confident enough in the line to try new stuff, so we might get some more creative marines in the future, but... shit that right off.

I got my Sahelantropus (the Sentinel one) from MGS V for the release price(if not mistaken 300 USD) The thing is huge, can transform and has a ton of die-cast parts, if that matter, and also light up the led on the head. So yeah, all things considered, it isn't worth it if you compare size, components and possibility wise of poses and etc.

Not who you’re replying to but I just bought the 1/6 Kaneda’s bike and the 1/6 Kaneda to go with it. After international shipping and import tax that totals around £700. If I wanted to blow £200 on a Bandai gravis marine I would, but unlike that bike it’s clearly not worth anything close to the price they’re asking and you’d be a fucking idiot to support them charging that much for such a basic figure. What they were asking for the standard marines was already pushing it but I still bought two of those.

The logic of people who think the Casual collectors are the ones buying the bulk of figures from a franchise instead of the actual fans. Do casuals buy things from a franchise they don't know anything about because it looks cool? Yeah sure. But I find it hard to believe that casuals are buying the figures off the shelves in huge quantities or paying over $100 bucks for the Bandai figures. The McFarlane figures are cheap and in-stores. You’re going to get a lot of people who just buy them because they look cool and are in the “collector scale”. Aside from Robo, you got guys like Toybro, Tman, DAmazing that buy for those reasons. Now that you have joytoy jumping into the fray, you’ll get even more “casuals” that will get because it’s made by them. I don’t see what you aren’t getting. Plenty of people can be introduced to franchise that has toys but not know anything about the source material. People do just make up their stories.

I thought so, too. That's why I mentioned the video games as well. If it’s not clear, I’m anti-gatekeeping for 40K. My introduction to 40K was the Space Marine game; my uncle, who is an extreme normalfag in terms of gaming, hand it downloaded on his PS3. It wasn’t until years later when a friend started talking about it that I realized it was 40K, and despite that I still enjoyed the game.

Even after going through the gamut of sci-fi armors, both Japanese and American, and buying hundreds of figures, Termies remain near the top of the list designwise. Pre 8th edition minis were 4.5 heads tall. Post 8th edition Primaris and Chaos Space marines are 5.5 heads tall. Joytoy is about 6.2 heads and Mcfarlane are 7 heads tall.

You'd also need to scale it up, Terminators are about 3 feet or more taller than a normal marine. About the only thing I think you could repurpose is the backs of the knees. At an absolute minimum, you'd need to resculpt the legs front and back to add enough bulk, completely redo the arms, shoulders, make an entirely new torso and head with new engineering for the joints, etc. It's basically impossible and you're better off hoping that chinese company making the GK Terminator makes regular ones.

Skull wings are much smaller than breastplate on the painted figure, outer thigh details stop at the top of the knee guards on the grey figure, painted figures groin grommet extends further into what would be the thigh armor on the unpainted figure, knee cap guards on the painted figure appear to be more teardrop shaped instead of just a sphere (could be just shadows), foot and top of the knee guards are rounded instead of flat angles on the unpainted figure. That is literally what GKs have on their armor. It's been like this since the plastic ones were released in like 2010 or so. Before that the old metal minis had non-letters, most likely because it was a nightmare to sculpt actual words at that scale pre-CAD designing. They also had english on their armor in artwork dating back to when GKs got revealed in early 3e.

Also, what works in smushy lil mini form, doesn't necessarily work when scaled up and reinterpreted. Look at how the thicc "INFERNO" and "VICTORY" text fill out the inset blocks, and compare them to the thin, anemic text in >>9261216. It just doesn't look right to me, even if it may be artwork-accurate.

I think that's why I like the JoyToy sculpts the best so far. They seem to sort of have that low-res smushy look to them that the minis have.

The original models have become violently mushy and undetailed as the moulds degrade. I wouldn't be suprised if next edition they remove them from everyone that doesn't have a unique kit like Deathwing and the Blood Angels termies. Like the last box I purchased to make some Deathwatch ones was in 2016 and the heads were already so mushy I ended up dumping all of them and replacing them with the new heads from the Deathwing box.

The old minis had lettering in High Gothic, or as it’s known in the real world, Latin. They changed it to Low Gothic, or plain English, with the plastic minis to be more “inclusive” to brainlets.

Old minis didn't have any lettering on them for the most part because it wasn't feasible to do sculpting of letters on infantry, only on larger monster and armor kits. What you're remembering is people painting that shit on their minis, which they also still mould onto stuff, just not marines because Primaris cannot be ostentatious in the way the old good marines are. Once again to point out the same fucking thing I've been doing this whole time, this is the original Grey Knight style. The letters are completely illegible because sculpting text at that size was infeasible. The artwork from that era had the same ARMOR VICTORY DEATH XENOS shit in their armor. Nothing has changed. There is alot to shit on modern 40k for but complaining that GKs look like GKs is fucking retarded.

They're a $30 figure sold for $100 or more.

Retarded anon aside, you'll need relatively strong magnets to make anything feel decent to handle, and those cost a good amount. It's not really worth it, especially since regular posing is going to make you want different placements. It works for miniatures that you're gonna be moving around a tiny bit by the base but not really for figures, at least not ones of this type.

Just be aware that getting powerful enough magnets to keep that pistol on there reliably is gonna be equal to or more than the cost of the figure you're gonna have to hollow out, hide and smooth AND paint. It's really not worth it.

Yes. It worked well with the resin purity seals I bought for the SM , and I had to carefully carve the back of the seals so they would fit with te round surfaces of the power suit. The ones for the Sister should be easy to attach since they're made from actual canvas, I'll just need one tiny drop for every wax seal
