>>9256164>Super7 coming right out the gate with some fucking weird choices has got me interested>>9260473>I sincerely doubt they'll do that many waves to begin with.Simpsons has like a jillion characters, I'm sure they're planning on going deep. Even with wave one, we still are at 0/5 "normal" family members (most of their other toyline waves always have a "base" main character but not this time). We got three never evers, a variant of a main character, and a side character. They did a similar thing with the transformers - bizarre variants of a couple of the mandatory main characters and then just deep into the never-ever shit. The whole point of their weird character choices is to show people "this isn't the usual one and done toy release". If the company got the simpsons license and wave 1 was the family... then what?
I assume there's going to be lots of simpsons waves, just like I assume they're planning for lots of transformers and ninja turtles waves. The deep cuts are for hardcore fans, the vanilla stuff is for the casuals, and these lines pay for the obscure shit no one else cares about, like Silverhawks. (Which I note had 4 major characters in the first wave - there's probably not a ton of waves to be had for that series.)
The big catch is it's made to order, which is a blessing because they can do shit no one cares about because pegwarmers aren't an issue. The curse is that it'll take four months to see wave 2, or in my case, it'll take 3-4 years before I have the main Silverhawks team.
The actual issue here is that it's gonna be a hard sell for casuals or even fans to get into this line because
>>9256316>I would be all about this line of it wasn't $50 a figure>>9260473>At $55 each, I'll just stick with Playmates.>>9260481>I'm far from poor but I'm not spending $55 per figureI feel like we're all just gonna wait for Duffman for the memes and then really pick and choose for the rest of the series.
