>>9280704>I'd argue Marvel is now out of characters for the most partYou're crazy. There's tons of characters that are pretty used to be popular and could be revived because they're great characters
Ghost Rider, She Hulk, Hercules, Namor, Wonder Man, Quasar, New Warriors, Dark Hawk, Sentry, Power Pack, Young Avengers, and now that they have XMen and Fanfastic Four back, there's hundreds of more popular characters they can bring in... but only after setting up their respective series.
I guess you could do an Apocalypse, Mr Sinister or Cable movie as prequels to set up the XMen characters before they actually apear.
With Cable, you can do time altering shit to just make mutants a retro active thing.
With Mr Sinister or Apocalypse, you can show mutants were always a thing but were repressed or hidden away and X genes only activating now en masse. Would love to see this as a mystery movie, complete with different eras throughout ancient history and different marvel characters showing up, like Kang or the Brood.
The fact they brought in Shang Chi isn't because they wanted t score points with China and scrapped the bottom of the barrel to find him, but because he used to be popular and they wanted to score points with China. His use is no worse than Marvel doing an Iron Man or Guardians of the Galaxy movie. The only difference is that Iron Man and Guardians were having successful comic arcs at the time of their movies.
