This. DST was the wrong fit for Battle Beasts. They didn't work using minimate bodies, and their canceled line of action figures wasn't much better. The dice ones Takara did just failed to capture the essence as well. Somehow the Glyos Armorvor does it best, but it's just recolors or the same body with a new animal head each time. Makes it kind of hard to want more than three or four because of that.

even these were cooler than what they eventually released.

from what i remember, Diamond had to make all their changes because of Takara/Hasbro still having copywrites (aside from the name) and because of the name, the designs had to be less like futuristic armor and more medeival.

yea the molding for the armor and animal parts is great. Trying to do it off of the minimates mold was a bad idea. They should have just made a need body mold and gone from there. They got the name battle beasts to find out, they can't actually make cyber-armor rock-paper-scissor element animal-people. Real shame

They (Takara) did. It was called Beast Saga, came out in 2013, you didn't buy them, it went away. They're cool as shit though.
