The number of backers exploded shortly after Nova was confirmed, and after surfer was revealed it was over.

Including 3 entire figures, not just accessories was a big selling point. Especially considering there will be absolutely no other way to get these 3 (at least for a while) and the wall greens surfer alone is already $100.

But I'm still hesitating. Plus the Marvel Universe one was delivered to me today (I ordered one for a really good deal with free shipping last week when it looked like the Haslab wasn't going to reach so many goals). It's already a huge figure and has me underestimating the size of the Haslab Sentinel.

Like, can I handle any more figures that huge? I'm not super poor, but do I want to put $400 bucks ahead now for Galactus out of the $1k in my account?

To address the idea that Galactus isn't legitimately surpassing the Sentinel; there is some hype involved considering he is the next logical big bad in the MCU, even if he hasn't been confirmed yet. As trash as the movies are and as braindead as the casual normie is, there is still plenty of hype for the future of the MCU.

Also I think people buying extra(s) to flip are in for some oversatuaration on the secondary market next year. There will be 100s if not 1000s of Galactuses flooding ebay.

I get being disappointed that things don't happen exactly as one wants. I was pissed with how Endgame fucked Hulk over. He should have dated out and tanked Thanos' headbutt, not Carol. I still had a lot of fun with it and am excited to see how fun this Spider-Man multiverse movie will be. Above all else comic book movies should be fun.

I agree, I have my problems with the MCU but I've still had a lot of enjoyment watching the Infinity Saga as it came out and though people are getting sick of the multiverse gimmick it's the one thing keeping my attention in this new story.

I did that a few years ago, stopped for a while then gorged myself on everything I'd missed out on. Unfortunately for me the constant flood of new stuff made it so nothing felt special anymore and after a while I wasn't even opening the stuff I was buying.
I've hit a happy medium in recent times where I'm content to slowly pick up new waves of ML and Transformers as they come out. My wallet is happier too.

I feel like, if they genuienly ran out of giant sized characters, and vehicles, they might turn towards something like multi-packs of very niche characters and groups, like for instance The Warriors 3, The Wrecking Crew, The U-Foes etc. All could easily be released individually and the larger characters could be BaF's but finding a wave to feasibly fit them in isn't as easy. The Wrecking Crew could just get reissues or updates and fit them into a wave or two, the U-Foes could be trickled into a wave, but it might be easier for everyone to just make them a set and then toss in stretch goal bonuses. Like they make The Wrecking Crew, and the Stretch goals can be more accesories or alternate members of the team, Warriors 3 could add Sif, Balder and Skurge etc.

It's not chrome anon, just a particularly shiny silver. Chrome has to be sharply reflective to qualify. But anyway, not the point. I got that figure when it first came out, and while I was thrilled with the quality of the figure itself, the LEDs only worked for 0.5 seconds before permanently fizzling out. Battery changes and fussing with it did nothing. For some reason that bummed me out so much that I kind of just put it in my closet and didn't touch it much after that.

In retrospect, should have tried to send it back or gotten a refund, but I guess I was young and dumb back then.

Rookie mistake kid, I crafted an ingenious plan to ensure my wife didn’t say a peep.

First I asked her what she wanted for our anniversary. Now she’s generally a very frugal person but she makes the same joke every year leading up to our anniversary and requests some ridiculously overpriced handbag or bit of jewelry. She then immediately walks back her statement and requests something reasonable.

Not this year! She asks for some necklace from BVGARI and I humor her… “which one,” “what material,” etc. The next day I drop $5k on this trinket and then immediately backed Galactus.

She loved the gift and has been profusely thanking me for days. Meanwhile, I casually mention that I bought a toy. She didn’t even bat an eye and when she sees the bank statement it should have both charges within a couple of days, I doubt she’ll have the nerve to say anything. I’m waiting.

Hobgoblin and Symbiote Spidey are the only ones that have been leaked, via a product listing with Web Man and Spider-Man 2099.
I assume Spidey will be on the Retro Spidey body, because if the Symbiote suit doesn’t warrant reusing the mold, I have no idea why they even made it in the first place.
Hobgoblin will likely be similar to retro Green Goblin: bright orange and blue, likely a new more classic (and hopefully more yellow/orange) head sculpt, ideally with a new hood and cape that are less tattered. They’ll likely reuse the Retro GG glider or redo the original bat shaped one, so that his glider is compatible with the Demogoblin flight stand. And if we’re really lucky, we’ll get a Roderick Kingsley head too. In terms of parts, he’d have no more than Retro GG except for the cape, so I think it’s a pretty reasonable assumption. I really want that Kingsley head though, and a new head sculpt in general. I love the symmetry between Venom wave Hobbie and Sandman wave GG, so hopefully his retro figure matches the retro GG too.
As for Rhino and Doc Ock, do you have a source for either of those? I’d honestly want a Rhino redo, he’s fine but scale creep is real and he looks like a manlet.

Nah, not yet. It was leaked back when Web Man was, and that was a month or two before he was revealed in April. So it’s an old leak for sure, and 2099 wasn’t revealed until a month or two later. I assume we’ll see some stuff at Pulsecon, I don’t imagine we’ll get any reveals in the meantime.
Also, I’m just guessing about the Retro body thing, but I don’t know why they wouldn’t use it. We’ve gotten two on the pizza Spidey body already, I imagine they want people to double dip, but 2099 proved me wrong too, since he was straight reuse. Idk.

I'm under the assumption that a $400 toy purchase doesn't affect his bills, especially since he's spending $5K just to trick his wife. I'm also going under the assumption that he's using money he earned from his own job and not funds from his wife's job (if she even has one) so it isn't a matter of spending beyond their means. If you need to spend $5K on someone else to justify a $400 purchase for yourself, you probably aren't really that happy with your life.

The 90's Doc Ock figure was on the shelf behind Dan Yun in the video he posted last night which I took as a tease that he's coming soon.

Also on the shelves were web parachute Spider-man (also from the 90's Spider-man line), Marvel Legends series 1 Captain America (in the last livestream they teased something coming for the 20th anniversary of the line) and a group of X-men (Cyclops, Nightcrawler and Dazzler) standing around an arcade machine. I'm guessing that this was a hint towards a future X-men wave or box-set themed around the 1992 arcade game.

I think the next haslab should be a wave of bishoujo figures. They seem averse to trying to sell adult figures at retail. A made to order wave of sexualized female and men would be ideal for a kickstarter.

Maybe some sort of smaller scale project with regular figures that have unique body molds that require more expensive tooling that come with more accessories than the average Marvel Legends figure could be a different approach. More tiers = more figures that come out or something. Otherwise I don't know of any other larger/massive figures that they could do lol

Is that possible though? Assuming they decide to do them all and it's still one project a year, it would take five to ten years to burn through Sentinel Variants, even. And then another ten to hit every celestial, another five to get giant man variants, etc.

Surfer's shoulders look much bigger in the render than that mold actually has and it looks so much better.
The tiny shoulders are my biggest complaint with that mold and based on the render I was really hoping Surfer was going to use the larger Shang-Chi arms but the actual figure seems to just be a standard Sunfire body. That's a little disappointing.

He couldn't have been chromed/vac metal because the body isn't designed for it. Without extra space between the joints to account for the thickness of the chrome, it would have shredded off as soon as you moved him.
He does appear to look more silver in hand than in the render, so that's good, but it's not nearly as shiny as the Walgreen Surfer and I think going less was definitely not the right play. It feels like Hasbro made him different just for the sake of it, kind of like they do with Iron Man, even though they nailed the colours with the 80th anniversary figure.

I new board would have been nice too, now that I think about it.

I had the same thing happen to Iron Man 2020. He'd been left in the same pose for months and when I finally decided to re-pose him the left leg snapped off as soon as I started moving the joint. The thigh swivel has been tight on every version I've owned of that mold.
Sucks it happened but I'm not complaining too much as it gives me an excuse to buy another IM 2020 for more boot thruster effects.

In terms of actually running out of characters they could choose from? No. In terms of popular enough characters to actually sell? Yes. The most likely ones I think would be able to get funded would be Fin Fang Foom, and Giant Man. A second round of Sentinels would sell too maybe even a third. After that I'd say characters like comic Surtur, Atlas, Living Tribunal and maybe the Celestials could sell but it would be a closer call than Galactus just was. And if they did Vehicles honestly I can only think of 3 that I would gaurantee would fund and that would be the Hellcharger, the Fantasticar and the Blackbird. After that the Battlevan, Fury's Flying Car and the Spider-Buggy could fund but might be a close call.

There is no real limit on large scale things they COULD do, but its more about what would actually warrant the effort. Like lets say they do a Celestial next and it barley funds, so they do another a year or two later and it doesn't fund. I don't imagine they would ever do another Celestial because the first barley made it and the next didn't. They wouldn't see it as profitable and just cut their losses. I mean honestly I don't think they'd try for a Celestial period but thats besides the point.

tl;dr I'm talking more about whats feasible for them and not the actual options they have available to them.

The “wrong boots” issue is barely an issue. You just swivel the calves 180 degrees, swivel the feet 180 degrees, then bend them forward.
The biceps are also easily fixed. You boil the arms, and swap them, then you pop the pins above the elbow and swap them. It’s worth it for the paint apps on the 80th one desu. And the AI one would need to have painted eyes and arc reactor, which I would argue is more work.

Better than Cap Carter? So far Cap Carter has been my favorite despite thinking I'd not enjoy it that much. Last two were ok but didn't grab me like the Carter episode did.
