Use this thread to share experiences and make recommendations for any anons looking for first-time buying or to potentially switch services. There are pros and cons to each and no particular proxy is perfect but hopefully enough info can be shared for people to make an informed decision.

This doesn't have to be just about Japanese services. Feel free to share for other places such as for buying in the USA or Europe.

Ebay items for example. Sometimes you can only find stuff sold in places like the UK, France, Italy, Germany etc. That's without going into whatever local dealer or toy sites exist in such places that may sell figures that only exist in those regions too.

Buyee is fucking awful. There’s hidden costs and shit and they just grip your nutsack when it’s time to ship. Don’t be surprised when your order suddenly costs 200 usd to ship cause they let some retard from China pay 4k yen for shipping for a tiny parcel. Also, their blacklist system is retarded, and despite what they say they fucking NEVER check it personally if requested. I was trying to get a neat LittleArmory lot with a rare Vector CBR and they wouldn’t let me bid cause they thought it was a real fucking gun, I requested to have it manually reviewed and they stuck to their decision. Fucking retarded horseshit. Same goes for sellers, there’s a guy who sells junk parts for figma and he’s completely blacklisted despite his rating yet these chink scammers that sell 1 yen items that ship for 3-4k with zero positive rating are allowed to roam around is pants on head retarded. Use FromJapan or some shit. And you can’t just plug in a URL and request a purchase from a site, you have to use their shitty plugin and if the site isn’t supported then fuck you.

I like Buyee and never have any issues. I only buy from Mercari though where the seller pays the shipping to the warehouse.

I wish Buyee wasn't the only option for Mercari because their system is dumb as shit. Consolidated 2 tiny gashapon figures in a huge fucking box filled with air bags. The funniest part was they even messed that up, the figures were on the bottom with the bags just piled on top, so if something had happened to the bottom they might have been damaged

I honestly get a better deal when I don't pay for the protective packaging. They just stack all the boxes/envelopes inside of a bigger box and send it on it's way anyway. 90% of the time the seller already has padding inside the box they sent to the warehouse which Buyee leaves inside. The protective packaging is usually you paying $13 so they can wrap your box in more padding which adds little to no extra protection. The secret is to pay for the insurance instead of the protective packaging that way they leave your packaging alone and will even stack your consolidated packages better because they don't want you to complain and seek a refund if their gook tactics cause damage.

I'm not saying it isn't my fault I'm saying it should fucking say that right from the get go instead of showing up on my receipt when I've bundled it with a whole bunch of shit I actually want. they also like to just bundle everything without removing the box for the individual packages so your weight is always bloated. I just don't like these niggas.
Why is shit so expensive from China or wherever to Japan anyway? They're literally neighbours.

I prob came off a bit harsh, I'm not annoyed at the price, it was still cheap shipping, it's just really weird and seems like a waste. In this case I could have sent both items individually and actually saved about 100 yen. I never pay for protective packaging, it seems pointless when this is how they consolidate things. One time when SAL still existed I had a package which went over the weight limit, I messaged them and they opened / repacked it to get it below, I don't know how often they'll do that though. Also the China to Japan shipping probably isn't much, they just charged it because of the 1 yen price and they can get away with it. I've bid and won 1 yen items from Jap sellers and they just sent it no problem

Zenmarket ¥ 759
Buyee ¥ 847
Mandarake ¥ 491 (Mandarake is not a Proxy)
Zenmarket +point si free consolidation.
Buyee +point is you can buy from Mercari
Mandarake = no commission

Yes the good point on mercari is shipping paid by the seller... except sometimes, and then it could be more expensive than international shipping (a seller from Okinawa - Buyee is i Osaka). The bad point is that I bought 2 items from this seller but Buyee didn't bought them together, so I had to pay 2x internal shipping ans 2x international shipping.
