Status of MCX:
Land Shark, Slime Pit and "Hordak Strikes" construction sets.
Slime Pit pre-order is only $10.34 (confirmed skeletor head), while Land Shark is $26.24 ... that shouldn't be any bigger than the $19,99 MSRP Battle Ram, so I hope there's a third figure and other goodies.
"Hordak Strikes" shows an MSRP of $29.99 – supposedly just a block figure build
Thread Question: What do you think will be announced during Powercon?

TQ - It will be announced that Origins is cancelled and they are rehiring Scott to make all decisions related to Motu.

>What do you think will be announced during Powercon? Definitely Origins Waves 8 and 9, plus the next year of deluxes, exclusives and perhaps a playset or two. Expect Masterverse Wave 4 full reveal plus product pictures of Wave 3 and 4. Next year or so of MCX, buildable Havoc Staff in hand. Super7's bringing Revelation ReActions, some Keshis if they still have the license and (a definite longshot) Filmation Ultimates. If Joes can have Ultimates AND Classified, why can't MOTU?

Kronis is growing on me bros. I've had him for a few days now, his ugly doofy face isn't bothering me anymore. I think deep down I just feel sorry for him, everyone gives the toy so much shit and he's really not all that bad. He's got more going for him than Stratos.

I've been going over the 1988 characters lately, and I gotta say I really like Terroar. He has alot of Hordesman potential. I like him enough that I'd really like to see him, along with most of the 88' guys, get into origins.

>>9293501 What is it you like about Terroar exactly?
I ask because I hate him, and it's because I dislike seeing things that make a character unique be reused. He takes Rattlor's gimmick, Trap Jaw's gimmick, Whiplash's head, Mosquitor's unique boots. I despise that.
Heads especially should never be reused, everyone should have a unique headsculpt (barring Faker since being a lookalike is his whole gimmick)

He takes Rattlor's gimmick, Trap Jaw's gimmick, Whiplash's head, Mosquitor's unique boots. I despise that Honestly that's partly why I like him. Terroar is such a bizarre combination of parts that the end result ended up being really fun and cool in its own right. The same stands to be said for the snake hordesmen, Plasmar, and Lord Grasp. From a mere glance I cant help but start to dream up lore and backstories for each of them.
Also, if you dislike reuse then you shouldnt like MOTU. Half the cast is a product of parts reuse to some extent or another. Skeletor and Heman alone are responsible for a third of the cast.

And even then, I said I dislike UNIQUE parts being reused. Thinks like head sculpts or pieces related to unique gimmicks.

>>9294335 Ive had to retype this post probably 3 times because I couldnt get the point across, but now I think ive got it. Sorry for the spacing but I feel like it keeps it concise.
Being a Zoomer born in '99, my exposure to MOTU was the 20XX series. I didnt get to watch much of it though, as i spent the majority of my formative years being moved around foster homes. This period of my life gave me a lot of mental issues that would later become apparent.
I was eventually adopted into a "forever home", but I was there because they couldnt have children...until they miraculously could. Now I'm just this thing they can put in the closet, out of sight unless its to berate me or wave me around like a trophy to their friends. Couple this with a father who was never home and you end up with current me.
Absentee parents and internet access led to many things: finding Newgrounds and its +18 section at 9, 4chan when I was 10, and a desire to browse the internet for toys I would never get. One of those was Masterverse, which looked rad as hell. I dug deeper and found out more about MOTU and fell in love.
I never got any Masterverse, but I am hooked on Origins. To me, they fill a niche similar to Vaporwave: give a feeling of noatalgia for a time you didnt even exist in. One of my happiest memories in recent years was just sitting at my Kotatsu, eating Monster cereal, and being surrounded by wave 1 of origins. It felt like the childhood wonder and warmth I never knew.

In the cases of Skeletor and He-Man it even enriches the standard releases. And reintroducing old gimmicks to modern action figures is charming and genuinely cool, and helps give the line identity beyond "remember Skeletor?" even if it's ultimately just "remember the old toys?"
I just wish the line had more polish. I feel that way even more so for Masterverse, which I think pales in comparison to Hasbro's stuff in recent years and even its own predecessor Classics. It doesn't have the novelty fun factor of Origins, so that kind of shit counts.

It sucks when you get a case where 2 of thr factions have something but the 3rd doesn't. For anyone interested, there are chinese sellers on ebay who've begun selling their K.O. Heman and Fakers together for 40 to 45 bucks. The thing that gets me is that they're without accessories and their hair/armor is getting noticably wonky. I wonder if these guys are rejects or something.
