>>9295458Spoken like an adult who was completely disconnected during the 2000s from what people actually liked.
6th/early-7th gen games were the golden age of 3D vidya in the same way 4th/early-5th gen was for 2D games. Literally just look up the console libraries of the Dreamcast, PS2, Gamecube, GBA, og Xbox, Wii, and the early days of the 360 and PS3 - we were getting genre-pushing shit every other week, there's too much to even list.
Action shows fucking flourished in a genuine golden age during the 2000s up until 2013, and in nearly all cases, were considered the best iterations of the given franchises (assuming they weren't an original IP) in regards to writing: Teen Titans and Spectacular Spider-Man are the obvious ones, but TF Animated, Avengers EMH, TRON Uprising, SW Clone Wars, and original shows like Samurai Jack, Kim Possible, Avatar, Generator Rex, SymBionic Titan, Motorcity, etc. were praised to high hell. Heck, we got two different TMNT shows even, at least one of them must've been good.
Traditional cartoons like Phineas & Ferb, Bob Esponja, Billy & Mandy, and many lower-profile hidden gems sprung up during the 2000s, not even mentioning this is the time when anime like Gurren Lagann, Lucky Star, and Haruhi hit the internet like a fucking mallet. Also while we're on the topic of 2000s internet, Newgrounds.
When it comes to films, I recall the og Bayformers, Raimi-Man, LotR, Hairy Pitter, and PotC being huge, as well as animation studios like Pixar and Dreamworks booming and never quite reaching that same peak ever again (with Didny also making a handful of alright movies, like Lilo & Stitch, Emperor's New Groove, and Meet the Robinsons too).
And cmon, you're on /toy/ where one of the biggest generals are Lego - you're not even gonna credit it with all the original themes that came out during this time like ExoForce, Aqua Raiders, Power Miners, Atlantis, let alone motherfucking Bionicle?
How is any of that not "something"?
