I kind of like the science officer. I don't really like the other Legion builders, so in that sense I'm disappointed.

It doesn't seem right, unless 4H are also including local taxes so that those won't have to be paid at the door. Probably not, given local tax on this would be $28 or so.

It's probably right. I remember for All Stars 4, the shipping for just a troll and the 2 MOTU figs was more than the shipping for the all in to Australia.
The issue seems to be the bigger figures. The Half Giant and the accessory pack in the Deluxe Legion Builder wave would both add $60 to my shipping.
This time it looks like Slogg and Deluxe Olek are causing the excessive charge. Kraggnar and the bugs seem to be fine.

I think that they designed the adaptations. And with this scribbled new designs. Maybe even thought if it is a success, you might want to expand the line by own designs.

This is using 1 All In pack which saves a little bit of money but that UK shipping is painful. I think I'll probably cut down the Vorrga and Zeeri hand pack down to two but otherwise these numbers seem alright to me, it covers any future kit bashes I might want to make and I already have several ideas for the new parts.
I'm probably not going to order it until later in the month though to give me enough time to think about it all and see what the domestic retail situation is like.

Yeah, it comes to about £940 before accounting for currency conversion fees and possible customs (all my previous orders from storehorsemen have gotten through fine though).
The weird thing is though that, for multiple figures at this, ordering directly from them is still the cheapest route.

I plan on cherry picking super hard on these figures, since my need for space fantasy figures isn't nearly as great as my need for classic fantasy figures were, so I only plan on getting one of these two big guys. I didn't watch the stream so I don't know how big these dudes look compared to the basic figures, but I'm leaning more towards orange dude cause he looks like he has better articulation, and is a bit cheaper. But as others have said, he does look more like a slightly teched up fantasy figure where as the green guy is very much all sci-fi. But Green guy also looks like a giant brick with barely any accessories, so it's still a toss up for me. It's gonna be tough picking a heavy for my Space Pirate crew.

What I'd really dig is a fully-armored or space-suited 9" figure, possibly with a big helmet. That way you could swap any Mythic or Cosmic head onto the body and, because its armored, you wouldn't have to worry about matching skin tones or textures.

Apologies anon, I do realize there are some legitimate fans of the line that are disappointed that it never materialized. But unfortunately, the majority of the traffic we see in these threads related to Power Lords stuff are spergs like >9303275 who just like to throw fits and tell half truths.

I'll be honest, I had some Powerlords as a kid (I always thought the main guy was the weirdest toy) and wouldn't have minded grabbing a few figures, but the demand just did not seem to be there. The 4H may not have put their 110% effort into the line, but they brought it with them to all their cons, they had interviews with multiple main stream toy outlets and pushed the sale the same way they pushed all their other sales. But it wasn't enough for them to get people into it for this line.

They had to TRY to get this to fail, and their complete laziness, lack of promotion, and random decision to hold a kickstarter esque campaign on their website that gets no traffic with no updates and not even a live tracker or money or supporters killed the line and they had the fucking balls to say people just don't care about 1/18. Yeah I'm sure no one wants 1/18 when bossfightstudio literally made their company from a six figure Kickstarter. I'm sure no one cares about 1/18 when those absolute dogshit girl superhero figures did so well they got into retail stores off their Kickstarter. I have no loyalty to 4H. I only buy their stuff here and there. I remember when they did Power Lords and the way it seemed they went out of their way to not promote it with the effort of anything else they've done.
So when some of you try and defend 4H or try to twist facts i can get why it bugs some people. Fact is 4H fucked up hard with Power Lords and their lame excuses don't seem to add up. Like its hard for me to believe their claim that no one cares about the line when they didn't try as hard to the same level as their other projects.
That said I can honestly say it wasn't for me and I would not have bought any of them.

They could change the scale of the Legions because the line wasn't officially launched yet. With the fan demand being so clear, they made a decision that ultimately benefited the entire project and worked out for the best. About the whole advertising thing, for what it was, I feel like they did more or less what they could. There were a few interviews here and there, the story was picked up by most toy sites, etc. I think the big annoyance was that they used KS for a tried and true brand in Mythic Legions for the 2.0 bodies, yet didn't for an unproven line with 4 unique body types. The transparency and wider net that KS casts, especially for a 1/18 line when the scale was so hot on KS at the time, would certainly have been helpful for Power Lords.

And that they were trying to get so much out at once rather than have a focused preorder with one 1 or 2 body types is a separate question on its own. So I wouldn't say not enough advertising per se, but certainly wasn't managed as well as it could have been. That they didn't try again despite the time and effort they put into the many prototypes, maybe the license lapsed right there and then, just like with Sectaurs and Zica Toys after their 2nd KS didn't fund.

They had success with their Gothitropolis birds and Mythic Legions, and had marginal success selling half waves on their own website. So they believed they were big enough that everyone would just know what they were producing.
They never realized that they were only popular with He Man fans. They thought their fans would buy everything they made, except their fans mostly just want knockoff He Mans.

So when they launched their not-kickstarter, only a relatively few people who would actually support the line knew about it. Despite advertising at the San Diego Comic Con, the not-KS still hadn't launched and they only told people their primarily funding date, which they had delayed. Since they weren't collecting emails at SDCC, it also meant that there was no way for anyone interested to actually be updated either.
Complete failure and lack of understanding at actually being a toy company.

And as others have pointed out, because they're greedy, they didn't use Kickstarter, which would have given them high visibility from a TRUSTED crowdfunding platform. 4H instead used their sketchy as fuck website.
Want to pretend that their websites aren't sketchy as fuck? Name all the shopify and 3dcartstore stores you regularly buy from that aren't 4H's. Those stores are seen as ripoff data stealing stores by nearly everyone.

I know we have some new people here since the Cosmic Legions announcement, so just so you are aware, we have had a shitposter here for years who crops up every now and then and tries to start shit. this cosmic line is reusing some of the basic designs from power lords and most of teh aliens just look like they were retooled mythic legion, unlike the aliens from the power lords line.

Yeah, decent 1/18 has gotten more expensive and paint costs especially are through the roof on everything. That said most of these figures could easily be released at a $20-30 price point. The bigger guys here that are $50 and $80 and shit would top out at $40. The entire line as a whole would be so much more affordable, the extra space means you could easily actually make displays of legions, and they could actually be making dragons and spaceships and shit for these lines for $200 or less vs not fucking at all.

1/12 shit has taken over actual toy fandom for much the same reason. I have some 1/12 stuff and have nothing against it in general, but it is by far the most dominant section of actual toys at this point and yet is by and large all identical shit with very little experimentation, innovation, uniqueness or fun of any kind. Theres more people that *only* collect 1/12 shit vs anything else, whereas most other people that buy toys have a variety of stuff.

But let me say something on the attitude and the behaviour : this is a forum and a forum is a virtual place where people can discuss, analyze, have a critical point of view .
So your reaction, like the other user' s one before you, is the reaction of people who do not accept a normally critical discussion.
Do I have to defense my opinions ? No , of course.
Have you ever read critics' reviews on a movie? The process is the same ( and they are usually more severe than me ) : here we can do a sort of personal review of what is produced and I think it can be helpful and useful for everyone interested in these hobbies .

Second point : I referred to the 2 monster aliens ( the orange 12" and the green 9" ), not to the bug alien you have mentioned.
There is no doubt that those 2 big creatures are very expensive, and I would have bought them if they were 6 " or 6.5 " tall, in this way they could have been more affordable and above all, they could be characters among the others.

Third point : Yes, I like more a " simple " design , instead of a complicated, heavy detailed design. Where is the problem?
My hope was 4H could bring on a style similar to Power lords , but they took another direction.
I wrote my opinion to see if there were other people to discuss with , as it is used in forum .

I'm not so sure about this wave, guys.
Most of them aren't all that thrilling or unique for me, and yet they're still too unique to be generic stand in space men.

I love Slogg, but not enough for $80 and half a shelf's worth of space. I kinda like the helmeted bug, and I might try to do some painting on the legion builders, but I'm thinking I'd rather just buy Star Wars black series or cosmic themed Marvel and DC if I just want random sci-fi figures.

I'm in the same boat, as I don't really feel as compelled to get lots of random generic space people. There's plenty of other options out there and it's not exactly my favorite genre to begin with. My plan is to stick to four figures and keep my purchases of this line very limited. Thankfully they're doing small wave pre-orders instead of the 30+ figure dump Kickstarters, so cherry picking is a lot easier, but I'm sure this line has lots of growth potential in it's future.

I'll be honest, if they made them in their standard scale, I probably would have went in for a few Powerlord figures as well. My 1:18th stuff is dominated by real-ish military figures and vehicles mixed with some Star Wars vehicles and human figures, so crazy space aliens wouldn't really meld well in that scale for me. But I have way more variety in my 1:12 stuff where I could fit in a weird alien or generic space suit dude. Hell, that's the only reason I buy Star Wars Black stuff. I don't care one bit about Star Wars lore, but cool space pirates and armored troopers are always welcome in my collection.

too many things have regular limbs and legs, at least the fly boys have chicken feet, more of that.

We've had plenty of generic orcs, elves, humans, and dwarves. I still think their goblins suck dick for being fully clothed/armored from the neck down. If they don't have goblin clawed hands and feet then they don't feel like goblins at all.

An obvious one is turning Gravering Olek into a lizard man for Mythic.
I'm going to use the black bare arms from the engineer along with the black goblin head from the stinker tribute figure to make a full dark goblin.
And I think I could use Hvalkatar Olek and skeleton limbs to make a Doom style revenant.

All the males seem to be on the 1.0 build, as I'm pretty sure the pants on blue reptile dude are the same ones that first showed up in the Illythia wave. But Gatling gun lady also seems to have a 1.0 build, which means those bare arms of hers could easily be used on a bulkier fembarian in Mythic Legions.

As for the frequency of Legions, I remember reading somewhere they planned on doing something like two waves of each per year, but also having a constant Legion Builder presence on their shop. So the Mythics will keep coming, though thankfully their assault will be less frequent. But the Cosmic will be coming just as frequently, so the overall barrage just won't stop.

....god dammit Anon, are you me? Like, you're pulling out a lot of stuff I did in a similar...though maybe inferior...manner lol. Hell, I even had the same bookshelf for the longest time and only just recently upgraded to something more visually appealing (but gives me far less space). Your display looks fantastic though and I'm jealous of how good you make figures look, even though I have them myself.

And I'm not disputing how cheap-o Lizzie feels, she really is a rickety brick of a figure that was produced on a shoestring budget. The fact she looks so amazing is a testament to the 4H's skill where they can make a figure from something so awful be a must have collectible.

Those frilled Lizard figures are over a decade old, so I guarantee you you can't get them for any cheaper than Mythic Legions these days. They also have a very cheap feeling plastic sheen to them, their leg joints are plentiful but don't hold poses very well so most of the articulation is wasted, and their tail is a stupid action gimmick that prevents you from reposing it. I had to cut the button to activate it off with snippers or else it protrudes half an inch out of their hip. Also, their hands have a hinge, but they don't close far enough to hold weapons properly, so I have to use blue tack or just balance them in there. They aren't bad figures, but they aren't very good ones either.
Source: I'm the one who posted them.

Comparing mass-produced lines with wide distribution to stores against independent lines like this isn't really productive or fair. The reptilian bodies that 4h has shown off are really exciting and I'm looking forward to growing my lizard hordes when they finally release as ML.

I agree that this scale is best focused on the figures themselves. It worked really well for the Mythic side of things, because there was just so many other compatible lines and accessories out there in this scale that you could really make some fantastic custom figures with only a modicum of effort. It also makes the larger class figures look absolutely imposing with how big and well detailed they are. You start throwing in horses and other mounts in this scale and the figures alone just demand attention.

But for space/tech related figures, I do try to tend more towards the 1:18 stuff. I picked up one of the Joytoy Maintenance teams and I plan to use em as some sort of space transporters. Only I'm having just as much trouble finding them a ship too, no one really makes super large vehicles anymore (well, outside of Chap Mei's Plane/Sub mold). I'm leaning towards grabbing the Vintage Collection Slave 1 and just modding it into more of a transport vessel. But even that will have trouble making room for a crew of six.

I totally plan on doing that kind of stuff in the future, I just need to finish renovating the basement (probably won't happen for a few years though). Once that's done I'll be able to move my collection down there permanently and will have no problem making full sized, long lived displays. But for this crew, I might use pic related as a base and just work from there. It's a huge ship, but not too big to be picked up and carried. Though again, giant orange dude is gonna pose a challenge. Maybe I'll just leave the thing as an open top space boat or something.

We're probably get the next wave up for preoder during their Legions Con or whatever it is in November. I think I'm just going to skip the first space wave entirely, and split the money between Arethyr stock sale and the next Mythic preorder.

Related I guess: it's remarkably hard to find a croc head scaled correctly for this custom. Most crocodile toys are too small.

yeah, pretty much, the issue is that every joint is also a modular port, which is why they don't do double joints. Butterfly joints would be awesome though.

Yeah they fall into 1:10 I believe, hell most western figures (and imports that try to scale with them) aren't technucally 1:12 either iirc, only figma and figuarts are true 1:12.
