I got scammed on two pre-orders for some toys on eBay. Pre-order dates came and went. I asked the seller when they are expected- oops this account is no longer active! Got eBay and PayPal involved. After them both pointing the finger at the other, I was finally able to get reimburserd for one of the two pre-orders. It stinks they were useless for the one since it was past 90 days (what they said). Never pre-order on eBay, especially if the item doesn't arrive within 90 days.

Ebay to buy some stupid custom Batman head for the Mcfarlane toys one. Seller wound up deleting the account.

All attempts to contact Ebay or Paypal about it were unsuccessful. Kept telling me to contact the seller about it even though the seller was gone. Moral of the story is avoid Ebay at all costs.

Sold 3 Hot Toys through eBay (~$800). Recorded the packing process, took timestamped pics before and after sealing the package, got a receipt showing its weight.

Buyer said I shipped and empty box, eBay decided to side with him and took the money back from my PP account.

Shipping insurance doesn't work because the package was delivered and the buyer didn't send me any picture of the supposed empty box so I have no proof that something happened to the shipment.

Never using eBay, PP or any form of payment including any kind of dispute service again.

Never been successfully scammed, but a while back I bought a bootleg figure from what appeared to be a U.S seller because I had the original and wanted to do a comparison. The figure didn't arrive after 3 weeks or so, so I reported the seller and got my money back. Ebay CS didn't give me details except to say that the seller's account was hacked. The figure never did arrive.

There was also a seller earlier this year who was selling legit chinese original toys/statues. They had enough good feedback that I bid on a statue pre-order and bidding ended at $10 (the statue sells for $100 on legit sites). Contacted the seller because I was skeptical of the deal and they cancelled the order after "contacting their supplier". Over the next month they'd end up getting a lot of negative feedback from people who never received stuff.

Not sure if I was scammed or not honestly but I bought a figure on Mercari and on the day of delivery my post office seems to have decided to deliver my shit to another building, I only know this cause another smaller package I was suppose to receive the same day was brought over by the guy in the building where it got delivered since I had done the same for him when one of his got delivered to mine. I woulda felt bad taking the sellers money when it wasn't his fault so I just rated him and let him keep the money, got contacted a few days later from someone claiming the seller had scammed them asking if I got scammed too but since I never got anything I couldn't know. Best part is the twat seller rated me 1 star saying I took too long rating him when I rated him on the first day and he's the one that took all 3 days to rate me and get his money.

My wifes boyfriend saw a ad on Facebook for generators that cost over $1,000 selling for only $99. He fell for it of course. His reasoning was “ya it could be a scam but what if it’s not and I get a generator really cheap?!” I thought it was weird cuz he ended up paying like $114 but it doesn’t say anything about taxes or anything. I don’t know how they would justify that extra $15. I had to laugh when he filed a claim with PayPal. PayPal contacted the “seller” and received the tracking number for it. It showed it was delivered to our mailbox on Saturday. So, this generator is like 53lbs without packaging and you put it in our mailbox that is only like 6 inches wide? PayPal of course closed the case. I called USPS yesterday and asked for more info about that tracking number. It was a small first class package. It was not even addressed to us and to top it off it only weighed .3 ounces! When I told my him, he sounded so surprised. USPS is sending me the papers showing that it was not addressed to us and the weight. They had to black out a bunch of private info so hopefully PayPal will accept it. The lady at USPS said they will find a live tracking number close to where you live to give PayPal a tracking number.
