Anonymous
>>9329658 Sorry forgot to mention that on my post. I had built and everything but it fell apart really easily, the arm section just burst apart even after extensive gluing, same with the legs sockets and the legs in general. Was I doing something wrong or are kits supposed to be this fragile? I was using tamiya glue. Also any other stand outs from that series? I was really interested in the kind of modular looking death trooper
Anonymous
>>9329834 Never built the Grevious so obviously I don't know how fragile he is, wondering if you somehow built incorrectly?
I did the Sand Trooper and found him pretty sturdy, just a bit back heavy from the equipment on his back and that usual model kit lightness
Anonymous
>>9329935 It was like my second time building a big kit like that, I am mostly into LittleArmory guns. (First was Koto Buzz) I guess I just didn’t know how hard I should be pressing stuff together or when to use glue aside from when shit starts falling off or seams coming apart. Had the same issue with my first couple LA builds too. I think I’m gonna give it another shot if I find the kit again.
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>9329942 Not that this is the thread for it but you should give smaller and probably easier model kits a try first before tackling Grevious. I have not personally built Grevious yet but I have experience in Gunpla and dabbled in Star Wars starfighter kits. Try them out first, especially Gunpla by asking the Gunpla general before getting back to Grevious.

I don't think anons get what's happening with the guns situation for DP so here's my reasoning. It is something that happens often in Japanese culture. This is all about Compliance. Not any written rule, or "forced" contract, etc. Just a bunch of people seeing what has been happening with toys in America, and deciding to "go with the flow." The pass of less resistance. It has nothing to do with Marvel or DC, it's all viewed as one big Western IP and seeing what's happening there, Bandai rather not risk losing sales in that market they complied to what's happening to toys there. Kaiyodo did a similar thing with the same character with their ver.2.0. They gave him ray guns called "toy guns" in the description. This sort of voluntary action with no enforcement is common, became a big problem in politics, called it Sontaku and became the most popular word in 2017.

>quality At one point those brackets that attach Shun's breast plate will snap. But unless you're removing it often, it'll be fine for the most part. I had to reglue that bracket on both of my Shun's broken/regular parts, which wasn't too bad.

>>9351441 You think they're ever gonna actually update their engineering on figmas at any point? Like this kind of design was sensible back in 2009 but christ every time we get to see a comparison to another line, it makes it so obvious. Even revoltech has moved past using nothing but revol joints for everything, why can't figma figure out a better way to do knees or shoulders or god forbid torsos?
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>9351679 They usually make characters that don't need extra articulation.
>or god forbid torsos? Didn't you see that they are now using legends-tier ab crunches?
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>9351679 There is some degree of "f it ain't broke, don't fix it" going on. Even revoltechs with its changes what essentially happened was they became more like figma joints. They're just implemented better because of one sculptor they have.
For knees, they do have double joints but refuse to use them. I don't like their idea of elbow joints for the more articulated characters, it's usually one big exposed joint, which anons who make fuss about it with AY should go harder on those frankly.
But with higher articulated figma they do take some extra steps.
>>9351441 You can see the shoulder setup is more modern with a cover for the joints. But the usual slide-out ball jointed and hinged shoulder joints are pretty decent. There's another swivel added sometimes. And single joints are always more about aesthetics and figma goes for that more. I don't see a problem with torso here? They do tend to not give it range for characters that are inactive but active ones they're not that far off than figuarts, no?
At the end of the day figma are like revo, the cheaper form of mass produce action figures, the PVC single mold body parts connected by shared joints. Without changing that I don't see how drastically they could improve.
Anonymous

For references, the other unanounced I've heard of are Ghostbusters, a comics line, Mortal Kombat, Darkstalkers (very unsure about this one), a few MCU protos stuck in limbos but not dropped, and the Nicholson Joker.
