>>9330213Everyone has different ways of dealing with death. For me it has been a very transformative experience and I now do not fear it. (Death is essentially one of the deepest roots of human fear) I feel that western approaches to it are unhealthy and it is viewed in a negative skewed way.
I'm neither new age nor Christian, though I do derive some living practices from both systems as well as Buddhism and Taoism. Stoicism too. But I don't identify as any of these belief/ideological systems, I just see bits of Truth woven throughout them all in little ways. Having understanding and knowledge of different things enables me to help others better and switch up my language/lexicon so I can communicate to people in ways they understand and are receptive to. I do meditate and am aware of higher things, and have seen some interesting stuff once I get past 15 mins or so of complete stillness Tad was actually my mentor when we first met. I dont like the word spiritual as it carries negative hippy associations, but that is closest to what it is I guess. What is "magic" can actually be explained with logic and higher physics/ mathematics, we just havent quite gotten there with the understanding as a human race yet. Even touching on the basic quantum stuff now is confusing the heck out of scientists and what they thought to be true.
I use a variety of mediums to help give me reminders (Tao Teh Ching, Psalms/proverbs, meditations by Marcus Aurelius, the prophet by Kahlil gibran and more). When we first met, to help prove his teachings were true (I am naturally cautious and skeptic) he drew a symbol on his freezer and a symbol on my soda can and from afar used his abilities to freeze the can instantly. Until someone else is able to go beyond the things he showed me, I keep my faith in his teachings and guidance.
There is more to this world and our existence than what the human eyes can see. And Love is all we need.
