We used to get 2 figures in some basic figure packs!

Who would think they would stop reissuing troopers at a regular basis with different paint jobs?

Anonymous
>>9329331 I already had Aunt Beru and the GONK + Jawa comtech, so that pack did nothing for me with it's "NEW HAT" for the GONK.
I always did like the podracer + another one or a droid figures. Though I never got Ratts Tyerell or Ben Quadenaros sets when they came out.
Anonymous
>>9329340 i wish they released all the pod racers instead of just 2. what good is the pilots with out there ships.
>GONK + Jawa comtech
still seems to be a lot online, goes to show people still want random background droids
Anonymous
>>9329338 >2 new figures and a full sized comic book for $10 >Could easily find them at Target, Walmart, Shopko. Kmart, Toys R Us, & sometimes clothing stores like Kohls, JC Penny, & Sears; as well as online. Anonymous
>>9329351 I'm sure it's the whole new tooling and whatnot, plus the need for the strong metal rods for the pipes.
Probably didn't help that some of them were even bigger than Sebulba's.
Anonymous
>>9329357 >this will never happen again >even if it did, it would use the latest 3.75" scout mold with the horrible giraffe neck There's been a fair amount of good stuff lately, especially the stormtrooper 4-pack, but it's really not the same as back then either. How long are we gonna be stuck waiting for a good 3.75" scout trooper and imperial pilot sculpt? How much longer will it be after that point for them to release all the related variants they'd be good for?
Anonymous
>>9329391 Sculpt..... a word as bad as 'moist'
Anonymous
I posted this pic in the last thread right as it ended. Tech is actually pretty great. I was pleasantly surprised
Anonymous
>>9329401 Whatever you wanna call it, this shit is awful and it makes me miserable that it was left unchanged for the 3.75" baton scout. Would it kill them to go back to the previous head, at least?
Anonymous
>>9329391 i just want a scout trooper with a sniper rifle, holy fuck man
Anonymous
>>9329416 That only happened once I think, and it was 5poa. They did at least give us that DLT-20A blaster with the recent TVC gamestop shadow stormtrooper though, so it's not too impossible to pick it up.
Anonymous
>>9329429 i guess i can, whats the best scout trooper then? do any of them have holster for the pistel?
Anonymous
>>9329433 I can post some comparison shots in a bit, but my personal vote goes to the Nik Sant scout as the general best option, although it's not very easy to get multiples of that one. They all have pistol holsters, and all of them except the recent baton scout came with a pistol to put in them.
Anonymous
>>9329453 >nik scant scout >almost 100 on ebay That's not happening, anything cheaper?
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>9329459 Yeah definitely, the others aren't nearly that pricey. I like the Nik one the most as I think the scale of the helmet looks slightly more correct next to the new RO stormtrooper, and it's the only good articulated release to not have weathering on it, but the other options still look great too. The 2006 scout trooper has like 4 or 5 releases and it's my recommendation as the 'definitive' 3.75" scout trooper that you can actually army-build, although in the very specific context of imperial remnant stuff I think the one from this tin set wins, since the hinged helmet combined with the weathering lets you make it look pretty much exactly like the ones from the mandalorian, where some of their helmets didn't/couldn't shut all the way.
https://www.jeditemplearchives.com/content/modules.php?name=JReviews&rop=showcontent&id=1870/#gallery I haven't price-checked the full tin set so I dunno how much that goes for, but I've found a few of the trooper from it listed as 'normal' scout troopers in the past and they went for about the same price as the '06 scout, so getting that one shouldn't be too hard given enough time/patience if that's what you're into.

I found ahsoka and maul TVC siege of mandalore figures in target I couldn’t believe I actually found cool Star Wars toys in the store felt like 2011 again
Anonymous
>>9329324 I feel your pain, anon.
>>9329331 Hasbro needs to recast the TVC Battle Droids, both regular and heavy, in a non-shitty plastic.
>>9329357 ;____;
>>9329429 The Shadow Stormtrooper (and for that matter, the slightly older Shadow Stormtrooper, and the original white Stormtrooper design) is a legit fun figure. Like, you open up the package, pose the figure and realize, "holy shit, this is fun and totally worth the money!". Which is more than can be said for 5POA shit.
>>9329433 >>9329453 My personal vote would mostly be for the "new" (actually re-released) TVC Scout Trooper because of the ball-joint hips and that unlike the VTSC and Nik Sant scouts, being brand new means it hasn't yellowed noticably yet. My Nik Sant is yellowed. :( But as
>>9329453 mentioned, the lack of a blaster pistol is somewhat annoying, at least if you don't own a single older Scout Trooper *or* a ROTS Royal Guard.
>>9329529 Nice! I only saw the Force Friday stuff in stores briefly circa 2019 and that was the first, last and only time I saw TVC on the pegs post-2012. Shit sucks, man.
Anonymous
>>9329696 Yeah nah; the balljoint hips are good, but the weird neck just kills the whole thing so hard that the 3.75" black series figure design hard loses to the 2006 one even with the better leg articulation. I can ignore the head being slightly too small, but I can't ignore how bizzare the neck looks in almost every possible pose.

Anonymous
>>9329405 I agree with you this guy is decent. My paint apps are a bit sketchy on the helmet, and again the holster, or LACK OF, bugs me. But overall, I give it a 8/10, maybe 8.5.

Getting back into figures, specifically SW and customizing them. Been a long time, since the Kenner Power of the Force lines in the 90s - I think the most recent sets I had bought were the awesome Expanded Universe ones. What’s the general consensus on what the “good” SW figures are? Leaning toward 1:18 scale because of vehicles and dioramas, but the Black Series looks cool. Searching thru the various 1:18 lines, there’s a variety of articulation styles and some look less sturdy than others. What I’m ultimately looking to do is Dremel some good base bodies a la Sithfire30. Thanks
Anonymous
>>9329429 >DLT-20A I’ve never seen that, or that packaging before. Pretty neat! After looking it up a little, apparently it was a pre-order bonus for the original Star Wars: Battlefront.

>>9329429 >>9329817 Oops, I didn’t mean to quote the blaster type.
Anonymous
>>9329817 Yeah, it was a cool idea, shame it released before the '06 scout design did or it might've had a real chance at being that version instead of a 5poa figure.
>>9329696 >>9329712 Also, replying to my reply here to add this comparison image, because seeing them next to each other really drives home the issue better than pictures of them separately does. The 3.75" black series design essentially looks like an alien is in the armor, and while it's nice that the baton scout version fixed the color issues the first release has, it didn't shorten the neck to a more reasonable length, and that's kind of inexcusable.
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>9330025 Yes, cool indeed. It kind of makes me think of how, now, some special editions of games come with a statuette or similar items.
And speaking of which, apparently the figure might’ve just meant to be a display item. I read that apparently the sniper blaster rifle, as well as his holdout blaster are glued in place. So the sniper would be glued in his hand and his other blaster would be glued in his boot holster.
Anonymous
>>9329405 I like him a lot as well. I wish the eyes weren't so shiny, gives him an owl kind of vibe. And I wish he at least came with a second trigger finger hand so I could use my Hunter's spare gun with him in a way that looked more natural. But, overall, I'm happy to have him in my collection.
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>9329759 >>9329761 >>9330204 Yep, I totally agree with you three. My only complaint besides the holster, is I wish the glasses could of somehow been made transparent like in the show. Maybe they could of done a face with the transparent goggles on, and included a second head with just the helmet on? Still, even with that complaint I think he looks great. Lots of cool detail all around the figure. I somehow found him at Walmart for under 18 dollars before tax (under 20 after tax)

>>9329778 Typically anything from 2007 and later has good sculpt, although it may vary for some specific figures (the lines have had many many retools/repacks/repaints).
Best you can do is go through the databases such as Rebelscum or Jedi Temple Archive, and check which figure you like most.
Beware as prices are exceptionnally high since Covid... so some figures (especially characters that have not been done multiple times) will fetch big money.

>>9329151 Got Bandai's 1/12 Kylo Ren model kit and 3rd party cape with wires inside for some dynamic poses. But there's a problem, I can't think of a good way to anchor the cape down, the wire's weight drags back and it moves the head all the way up and to the back, which looks bad and affects poseability. Any ideas how can I attach it that will work and look good? So far the only idea I got is to use a ton of blu-tack but I don't like this. Also, wires aren't affected by magnets so they won't work too.
In it looks fine because I hold it with my finger.

>>9333852 >Figs like these help fund the line Stop with this fucking retarded line, if they wanted to support the line with dozens of repaints they could be repainting clones left right and center and not only would most people happily buy them, all they would require is a tiny bit of paint and if you're willing to do the tiniest bit of actual work to mold something new you could do something like repaint the purge troopers into airborne troopers and reuse the mold for the 212th, 501st and mace's battalion as a nice call back to the 3.75in figures. The star wars team is extremely fucking incompetent and I can't imagine what fucking retarded mandate would come from Disney that would make them think the credit collection is smarter reuse than doing something like rereleasing the other 3 clones from the order 66 pack so people can army build them.

I realize this might not technically be the best star wars general to ask in, but as this is a toy-related request I'm asking here: is there any official source for the rest of the TIE Reaper's interior? Trying my hand at converting the Squadrons model into something 3D-printable in 3.75" scale, but the game didn't model anything inside the ship other than the cockpit, and while I've been able to cobble together some details from its other appearances, there's still quite a lot of space left unaccounted for.

Annoying that the door shape on both the front and back wall has multiple interpretations though, you'd think two games developed by the same company would agree on what that looks like but I'm clearly not so lucky. Doubly unfortunate that these images are clearly from a model file that probably isn't publicly available, it would've been super easy to just slide this room into the hull but at least it lets me know what I have to create from scratch now.
Anonymous
>>9335768 The variation probably comes from the fact that respawn only had rogue one to work with while motive was doing the full ship from a flight sim perspective. You could argue the door we see there in JFO is one that slides between to prevent them being shot to shit on landing. Found it on the artist website btw

This is definitely several months away from seeing the light of day, but I'll post about it here again if/when I manage to get it to a state worth looking at.

>>9343380 Do we count actors playing characters? In that case there are quite a few you could add like Mafex John Wick and Keanu Reeve, NECA Rocky and Terminator for for Stallone and Arnie...
Anonymous
>>9343403 Mafex John Wick and Jon Faverau are both just in suits so they can easily pass as the ators that play them.

Normally I don't like these weird shading to match the credits art repaints, but I kind of dig how they did the colors on this one. You could almost make this someone other than Din.
Anonymous
Anonymous
>>9344816 >>9344932 The coloration kind of reminds me of how Montross looked in the comics.

You think Hasbro will just reuse the ROTJ mold and cast it in black with new lower legs and belt?
Anonymous
>>9345143 no, they'll make a new mold, sell 40 different repaints and not listen when people complain about too much Boba.

Anonymous
>>9345255 >on BBTS >just checked and he's on Entertainment Earth too so why tf were they implying Amazon exclusivity then
Anonymous
>>9345255 It's not that I can't afford it, but paying overall $32 for these figures is just ridiculous so I try to curb the amount as much as possible.

>>9345263 They said it was Fan Chanel too which usually includes Amazon so I have no idea. The Star Wars team is pants on head retarded.
