the texture makes it look like a bad paint job

and the rest of the figure is so good people planned on using it as their go-to base figure for other ideas, but instead we got a rarely used neck style to crush any of those possibilites

its not good enough to stand on its own and even worse than it comes with such a great body sculpt

They fixed the scale later on. People cope that the batman in that pic is Dick Grayson despite it clearly being Bruce. The later stuff like Nightwing and the Super Sons scale beautifully with Mafex figures. As far as the articulation goes, the lack of thigh swivels was always annoying and the range of motion on stuff wasn't always the best. But that torso articulation was ahead of it's time. I remember people whining about the lack of waste swivel and while they could add one I don't feel they're as good as a ball jointed torso.

Green Lantern and Green Arrow here are supposed to be 5'10 and 6'2". Green Lantern stands alightly above 6"

Scale fits, except for Batman, hence supposedly based on Dick Grayson taking over the mantle. This is all but said on the Box, since the box states the design is based on Last Rites (Bruce is already gone) and not that costumes first appearance which was before Final Crisis (storyline where Batman "died").

Most of the bitching for Icons scale was done by people who only collect MLs, which suffers from scale creep, where most of the figures are too tall for 1:12 scale.

Did you even read Last Rites you mong? Two if the Batman issues are about Bruce being mentally tortured by the Lump in the Evil Factory. The second two Batman issues are about the Hush Money story going in at the time. Robin has Tim fighting Lady Shiva and Nighteings three issues deal with him moving to Gotham. You're probably thinking of the Tony Daniels promo art for Battle of the Cowl where the three Robins where various different Batsuits. Dick where's the one the figure where's, Jason where's a modified version of Michael Lane's Third Batman suit, and Tim wore the Meal Adams suit with the yellow ellipse and capsule belt. The latter two actually wore the costumes in story but Dick never actually wore a Batsuit until he got his own. Are YOU the non comic reader?

Cloth doesn't fold the same way downscaled that much. If you look at Mezco proportions you have clothes as thick as your eyes are round and ridges on the costume that would stick out over an inch.

But the mafex one will be out either end of this month (or will be pushed back 1-3 months because of their backlog). So I'd say just wait till the Mafex one comes out and see how the reviews are.

I do have the DCC figure and he's really good (as long as you only have him standing straight up). I don't even notice the awkward crotch articulation much.

A consideration could be made for figures of a same line, but wanting let's say humans to scale with dinosaurs isn't happening in a 1/12 line, for example. I got a preorder on the Comedian though, because it lasted past 5PM. That was easy. This was more out of the blue than that by far since they were teasing the 3 Jokers wave like crazy and all the figures except Comedian were going up everywhere, so people knew the Comedian would be up somewhere, they just didn't know where.

They need to say what items will be available, when exactly preorders begin, and preferrably have enough stock that the preorders can last a few days and it needs to be widely advertised on toy news sites. This isn't how Japanese stuff works for example; they put up preorders for sometimes a month or two and its easy to get an order in as long as you somewhat follow the line's news.
