His exposure level simply isn't up there. Outside of the Darkstalkers games, Demitri has only appeared in relatively lesser-known and less-popular games, like SvC Chaos and CFE. Whereas Morrigan has been in much more popular and well-known titles, like Marvel vs. Capcom, CvS/CvS2, Tatsunko vs. Capcom, Puzzle/Pocket Fighter, etc. She has also cameoed in a wide range of games, from Dead Rising to Monster Hunter to Street Fighter to Onimusha. She's Capcom's de facto choice whenever they want to reference Darkstalkers, and almost like a mini-mascot the way they use her sometimes.

I didn't even paste all the gaming magazine polls she placed in, from Japan and all around the world. There is little doubt in my mind that she absolutely blows away Demitri in terms of recognizability and popularity.
