>>9377818>>9377820/k/ don't ship each other guns and ammo obviously, because of laws in place. mainly they send each other accessories and such. Never participated in theirs as of yet so I don't know the details.
/k/ also has a buy/sell/trade thread but mainly uses it for parts and accessories. actual trading of guns requires meeting in person, not to many anon's wanna do that.
But we are off topic now.
hoarders and scammers happen everywhere, even here, but there is contingency plans in place on /a/ so people don't get grinched. if you never did the /a/ secret santa their sign up is done in two tiers, one for "new friends" for first time participators and one for people already vetted and whitelisted from previous participations which has higher gifting amounts available. Just like here they require tracking or some kinds of proof that your not grinching someone by a deadline. If you are caught grinching someone or miss the deadline, you are put on the naughty list and can not participate the following year. /a/ also has a big emphasis on cards and homemade for people who wanna participate but don't have much money or prefer a more personal touch.
only thing I could think to improve their system would be for their santa to communicate better with people there and requiring an address up front like santa anon does/did here on /toy/. Then again toy is a much faster and more popular board with many users so I expect the sign up there to be much bigger then her on /toy/ so maybe communication with every anon just isn't feasible beyond basic assignments and stuff.
/a/ while it can be toxic and elitist is no where near as toxic as /v/ or /b/, I would never trust doing anything like this on /b/ or /v/ myself.
speaking of santa anon, I hope he shows up soon and starts the sign up thread here, I hope nothing happened to him over the last year.
