Toy people don't acknowledge 'em because of their cost and the work that needs to be put into them, so they cite the lack of articulation as to why they're not toys. While actual players/collectors don't want to deign them as being mere toys, especially for the money and work that goes into them.
Me, I just wish I was rich enough that I could afford to just buy a horde of them, already pre-painted by skilled hobbyists, and then put them in an imaginary battle or story.
But then, it'd probably be cheaper to buy actual army builder toys.
