Did /toy/ ever send away proofs of purchases for a mail in figure/doll/toy? If so what were they and at what time did you send for it and receive it?

GI Joe UPC codes got me both a 12” and 3.75” Joseph “GI JOE” Colton toys. Those were pretty valuable back in the mid-90s.

I remember a friend of mine sent away for the Kenner Ambush Predator and didn't get the accessories, which were the coolest part.

I saved all my Predator and Aliens Kenner card backs.

in 2011, I remember I bought a bunch of hacksaw jim duggans to mail away for a Vince McMahon elite from a TRU/Mattel promotion, after that they just had a store exclusive you could buy outright, or get free with a $30 purchase, then around 2015, they had an exclusive at the same time of the year, but no promo and you had to just buy it if you wanted it

I once sent away for a T-Rex toy by mailing in an assload of some spaghetti-o style canned pasta as a kid, but all I ended up getting was a sticker sheet and a note apologizing for running out of the figure. Ruined any desire I ever had for mailaways.

I got her back in the late 90's/early 00's by sending proof of purchases and a stamp I think. Took a long time to arrive tho but it was a nice toy

I did one of those for Kool-aid, I sent for Separation Anxiety on Genesis, but they sent me a red Gameboy pocket instead, it was really useful, for some reason I played a lot of fist of the north star, i think it was because we didn't have many games looking back

Not proof of purchase, but I did eat a lot of chips. I remember being disappointed that it had no articulation, but it's ghost Obi Wan so he's just meant to stand there anyway. Also convinced my grandma somehow to buy me five of the Cantina band member figures from the old Star Wars magazine.

Hell I remember way back when Kenner had the Star Wars Rocket Firing Boba Fett free. I jumped on that right when it announced. 8 months later I get a letter that it was deemed a threat to babies in that they could choke on the missle. I was so fucking pissed off! I did get two of the regular Bo a Fetts however. One came about 1 or 2 months after the letter, and the second was 3 to 4 months. There were other figures I did get.
Also the was an exclusive set of figures from Mego. Kid Flash, Aqua-lad, and Wonder-girl or some shit? I don't recall how I got those, if it was straight orders or proof of purchase deals. They were bad ass figures though.

My guess would be the Sears Wishbook, they sold bundles like that all the time. My Grandma used to get them for me as Christmas gifts when she was getting too old to go out shopping comfortably.

The Fridge, Sgt Slaughter, robed Mummra, and a Robotech figure (I think it was from pop tarts). They always took around two months to arrive, which drove me crazy at the time.

I got Dengar, Admiral Ackbar, the ESB Dagobah survival kit (the grappling hook was brilliant), I did get the Emperor, I remember the little plain card board box he came in. You know Nimh, he was a send off as well I think. An interesting one was that you could send off for a mystery ESB figure before the film was released, that must have been fun.
