Don't worry, G1 solved that problem, they literally fire energy from their fists.
>Bio'sI'll help you with what I cooked up:
Ironworks: OG Ironworks suffered an accident, and now his consciousness is split between his base and Micromaster body. A side effect was granting the base a robot mode and the ability to combine with other bases in new ways.
Greasepit: Seeing he benefit in what happened to Ironworks, Glasspit petitioned to recreate his Gasoline base as a living transformer (based on the new Ironworks), he named it Greasepit. He's rather meek and proper, but gets hot under the collar while in combat and flooding his enemies with gasoline to set them on fire.
Airwave: Overair lost his base in an explosion during the Zone battles and was trapped underground. When found, the loss of his base hit him hard. Metroplex, feeling partially responsible, discovered he still had some residual energies from the Matrix from when he was given life. Using that energy, he reconstructed the base in his image and presented Overair with his new partner, the hyperactive kid, Airwave. Finding a new sense of responsibility, Overair accepts his new assignment.
Hot House: Seeing limited use in his fire station base, Hot House redesigned the base using Airwave as a template. Unlike the other new bases, Hot House uses his new facility as a suit of armor and has prepared a few extra bodies that he can control remotely.
