>>9392571I get your frustration with the cards getting bent, but let me say this, scalpers have destroyed everything this hobby has become. We had a community of collectors, people who raced cars, people who had MIP cars. We'd see one another in stores and compare carts or "baskets", and had fun just hunting for die-cast. Now? You pass a Target at 7am, TWO HOURS before they open and if a truck showed that night you'll see 10-25 basement dwellers, fat mama's boys, Pedo's in training, and thieves lurking at the doors.
Yeah I went a bit under-board, there's usually 20-30 of them.
Back then every collector had a chance at finding die-cast cars. As well as action figures too. The only time we paid more was when we found cars from years back. THAT is understandable. But seeing brand new cars, from cases that JUST RELEASED for $5-10.00? WTF!?!!? Stores are being emptied of products to make it impossible for us to find anything decent, and since the stores or distributors won't help stop it, shit like this is happening. Cards getting torn, bent, smashed, and crushed so scalpers won't bank off them. Is it right? NOPE. But since scalpers continue to rip people off, trash stores, and create more and more drama between retailers and collectors some collectors will take drastic measures. I open 95% of my cars, and say 75% of my figures. So smash away people, do your worst! Also leave them a note.......
DEAR SCALPERS,
Try selling THIS on eBay for $15.00. Tee hee hee!
