>>9405784If you want something cheap that isn't a "proper" fingerboard, just buy a plastic 32mm Tech Deck just like these :
>>9403376 - About $5-10.
If you want a beginner version of the "real thing", a.k.a a wooden deck with bearing wheels, consider buying a cheap deck (often Chinese) from DK Fingerboards, Bollie, Close Up or similar. I suggest starting with a complete 32mm or 33mm setup (wooden deck, trucks, rip tape and tool all included). These are great starter decks and won't bleed your wallet out. Perfect to give it a try. Budget should be around 30-45$
If you want high-quality stuff that lasts and is always available, I recommend buying a 32mm or 33mm complete from Blackriver. This stuff is expensive (and somewhat a luxury item) but design and quality are well worth it. These were designed to perform and last, which will give you time to adapt to the deck shape and learn tricks with it. Good resale value too. Budget is 100-120$.
Best solution would be to buy a 40$ complete and upgrade or change parts. I changed trucks, then bought a single deck to try a new shape and find what works best for me before buying an expensive setup with all the right parts.
I recommend buying from well-known fingerboard brands/distributors because they will provide good customer support :
- Blackriver (Germany)
- Flatface (USA)
- Yellowood (Portugal, Europe)
- FingerboardStore - FBS store (Germany)
If you're buying from a small company, always send an e-mail to test customer support. Most of these brands are just fingerboarders crafting their own stuff and selling them online. Most of them are alright, but some aren't.
