>>9410869>You want to expand on the mafex opinion? I had thought of picking it up a long time ago and just petered out about it, what are the issues?Sure thing, this is me being really harsh...I don't usually like to complain.
The figure I originally ordered:
1. Left arm kept falling off.
2. The left toe piece also kept falling off, you can see it has a toe pivot, but it's not a standard toe joint like just about everyone else does, they attached the toes with a ball joint and it didn't have good clearance so just kept falling right out.
I got annoyed about it so asked for an exchange, the second one I got:
1. Left foot kept falling off.I eventually managed to resolve that.
2. The dome wasn't curved exactly right, so it didn't attached to the front of the skull properly to stay attached. The connection at the back of the skull is good, but there's basically noting keeping the dome on at the front and it can lift right up. I've tried reshaping it by heating/bending/cooling but it hasn't helped.
In general:
1. His hip joints are really awkward to pose (see pic) they will jut out to the side and you've gotta fix them every time you move the legs which makes it a pain to handle and pose him. I know they did it for greater movement, but I've found it really annoying to keep correcting.
2. His feet are three seperate pieces...since I've had a lot of issues with his feet falling out it was a pain that keep having to put them back together. It didn't need to be more then two pieces at most and they should have used a normal toe joint.
Besides that I'd say I really like him. If he had better hips (and I didn't have the QC issues) I'd be way more enthusiastic about him...having a figure that you can't move without something falling off or having to keep realigning something really takes the fun out of a figure
If you do buy it, I'd make sure you go with a seller who is lenient about returns/exchanges or if it's second hand ask a lot of questions about articulation.
