I am not sure if there are actually any mods from /toy/ or who know about toys. And most of the trolling that takes place nowadays isn't the same as old days trolling, ie posting dildos or porn. Anyone can see that type of shit at a glance. It's now typically on antagonistic topics, or parroting falsehoods, or trying to start shit within the community. And that type of stuff kinda takes a knowledge of the community to detect. What does a random know-nothing mod care if someone is talking about a "Retroblasting" or proclaiming "NECAn't?" It doesn't appear to be outright trolling to your standard passerby, so it's hard for them to judge what is ban-worthy or not.

That's part of my theory anyway, on why mods are so inactive here.

As I see it, you've got two problems right off the bat. First, there's no rule against being disingenuous. Secondly, it can be hard for a clueless mod to even parse our conversations if they don't know anything about toys at all. Imagine you're some random twentysomething loser who just got thrust into moderating a forum on say, astrophysics. Can you tell solely on tone alone which posts are trolling, and past that, which ones merit actual bans/deletion? It's very hard without some context on the subjects at hand. I reckon you'd sound like a crazy person trying to explain to a mod "but they kept talking shit about this one ikea display case!"
