I found this Batmobile in store today, it's black with metallic blue stripes. I don't know much about how Hot Wheels are numbered, dated (this one is 2004 on the bottom) etc. This is a new series or something older? I want to unpack it, but if it's worth anything, maybe it's better to sell it?

Also which version of Animated Series Batmobile is the best? I am looking for one that matches the cartoon as much as possible, no extra flames or fancy colors.

Well since you already posted the only real spoopmobile I have, I may as well post the matching Blown Delivery deco that I badly want, but it's just too damn expensive, especially considering I already have two other Blown Deliverys.

In my personal opinion? This one from Hot Wheels, although it's part of a series that was 1:50 scale instead of 1:64. That said, I feel like the proportions are the best, and it's got accurate wheels which really counts for a lot of the car's look. The matte paint job is a definite plus, too.

If it absolutely has to be 1:64 though, just pick your poison from the list on the HW wiki; I think they're the only ones.

I don't think that wiki is reliable, I saw a red Animated version on the web and it's not listed on the wiki. My 1989 Batmobile version is also not listed, at least I can't find it by code or color description.

Given the sheer magnitude of Hot Wheels out there, it's like still 95% reliable. Any time I've found a page that was missing a deco, it was usually only the one, and often something recent; that red version was a Wal-Mart exclusive that only came out this year, probably the same case with your '89.

It's generally the best way I've found to search for decos, but just checking on ebay usually help unearth any leftovers, especially if they're new releases.

Maybe it's the same series. It's confusing how the dates correlate to numbers at the bottom of car, 2004 is probably copyriggting year of that cast, '17 may be the dayeof production.

Would a walmart exclusive batmobile be worth anything in central Europe? We get these things from Brits mostly, ebay is expensive.

Outside the two black and white ones, they feel a bit too tame to be proper day of the dead cars, this mainline rigor looks way more day of the dead with the purple/yellow wheels and pink exhaust

Warm wheels. Yeah, this here is part of my collection. Filename's Case 4-2 is because this is my 2nd drawer of my 4th case. Each drawer could hold on average of 30+ cars.

The purple one is Wild Thing, and the red one is a Dodge XP-07. I also got a pink version of that as part of a 5-pack, which also came with a Datsun 510 Wagon and a custom C3500.

I won't lie and say I haven't paid $100 (it's the most I ever paid, and just once) for a hot wheels car, but really the answer depends on how much you really want it. Exclusive shit like that is likely to only get more expensive, but you can never be sure.

Only gripe I have with Evil Twin is that alot of the ones I own just seem to like to rub their wheel wells when I try to spin the wheels. They don't stop, but the rubbing is annoying and it triggers my autism.
Still better than Purple Passion if you ask me, more personality.

For me it's "led sleed" style chopped rear I'm not a fan of. I wish it had more traditional "bulky" rear but I guess that's the appeal of this casting.

I agree it's kinda ugly af. (The wheels kinda overdo it)
but the bubblegum exhausts were too crazy for me not to kinda love it and pick it up.

I always told myself i'd get a drill and tap set to take apart and mod hotwheels some day and i'll be sure to give it different wheels and maybe paint the body. I do like the purple of the wheels but the skulls look too silly, especially in how different the graphic style is compared to its print.

I get it's a toyline but honestly I really hated the skull rims. It would've been better if it was like a 5 spoke with every spoke being made of skulls instead, or something less bleugh. It's almost as bad as TRAP5 rims.

I agree with you. This look will only look good on a very small amount of cars.
A 5 spoke rim made of your classic femur style bones would be way more flexible.
A more classic skull or classic cut halloween pumpkin face made with one crooked tooth and those triangular eyes and nose would be cuter and more timeless too.

Really? I've got like a dozen different versions of it by now, and the only one that doesn't roll well is this early RLC release with fat real riders. But I've got another exclusive version with low-profile real riders that rolls much better, and every version I have with plastic tires is fine; even pushing the wheels as far to the end of the axle as they'll go, I can't see or feel any rubbing.

Yeah, I kinda get that; it almost seems like the car's silhouette peters out, especially compared to all of the big design elements up front, but it's definitely on purpose. Anyway, I've got lots of other stuff in my collection with ostentatious rear-ends, so I sort of appreciate the contrast.

Actually, scratch that. I was just playing with my voodoo mask version and it definitely rubs, and my green halloween one does, but only on the front left, so it's not just you. I just hadn't noticed because I tend to play with my spectraflame classics versions more, and all of those roll fine. I wonder if it's because of the metal chassis, somehow.

Pic related is the Hot Wheels scooter, aka: Mo' Scoot. Yeah, this is by far the strangest off-brand thing I've seen, and I used to have one of those when I was 8 or 9 years old. These are like the Razo finger scooters, but difference here is I think the handlebars don't turn. It folds, though. Right now, I discovered that Tech Deck still makes these finger scooters.

While on topic of off-brand things, there's also the Hot Wheels BMX from McDonalds. Unlike the scoot mcboot, the handlebars move. Again, Tech Deck still makes finger bikes (and oddly fits onto my Gundams pretty well).

Shadow Jet II got a new casting this year, I just bought it today from a color reveals two-pack. It comes in a neon orange color and ahs a purple canopy, the paint changes color to dark green when exposed to cold enough water. P27A/02 is the serial number on top of the packaging, these 2-packs run for 10.99 USD or so.

I bought a Tomica car lot, but that was damn near $100.00. But it is kick ass. There are Greenlight garage sets that are decent. Also you can create your own. I've seen old shoe boxes used as Nascar garages or muffler shops. If you really want to go all out I got "grass" flooring for a reptile tank. Worked on it made a road, telephone poles, etc. Just get creative. I even have used popsicle sticks I've made into fences, again telephone poles, and bridges. I'll HOPEFULLY be setting up a shop or maybe you tube videos on how to make them. You will need a lot of small tools to start, or just go to a hobby store and buy it pre made.

They do look kinda interesting. I oddly do have a few "Tooned" castings. One is a red Ferarri Testarossa, another Toyota Celica, a Lamborghini, and a few others. They've grown on me. Wasn't a huge fan, but I've grown to like fantasy cars, and even some of the Licensed cartoon cars. The Looney Tunes set is bizarre. Tom & Jerry, Scooby-Doo and Shaggy, Fred Flintstone's "truck", etc. I'm getting into more and more unique cars and trucks and some are really bizarre.

Very nice retro "mini" set. I have one of the "Smallest Hot Wheels in the World" gimmick toys. It's the Bone Shaker and it has a piece of tiny orange track.
These Atomix look much better. Seem to be a lot more durable. Nice Johnny Lightning Classic Roadster, and the Blue UniMog in the case behind it looks good too. The white car on its left is that the Ford Cosworth? The newer casting? Either was great set up!

I think everything from the Designer Challenge line has those wheels, because the Gangster Grin I just got in has them, too. They look super nice in person, the center part is a flat gray, and the edge of the rim is chrome, gives them a lot of depth.

Also this car is pretty sick, but I'm an eternal sucker for lead sleds. Love how they homaged the old late '40s Ford grills with the turbine design in the middle.

Lucky. I only ever had a Scorchers Muscle Tone that I found at a thrift shop, and it only had the name on the side. Looking through them, they had some really odd team placements. Some cars got the wrong teams, cars that weren't even in the series got on teams, and some cars were on two teams at once.

See going back to my original comment, I liked these. Thanks for the Hypermite reminder. I had forgotten the name, because as you said they rarely made it. It wasn't a great racer, actually is was usually last in ever race, but it was unique and oddly cool. Back in the 90's and early 2000's Hot Wheels were a lot more creative with cars, but since I love Licensed cars most, thats the bulk of my collection Licensed cars. But I still do love some fantasy cars. Hypermite, cool little car. There's another tiny car, the Go-Kart. I've only found three of them. Looking for more.

Agreed, looks less "Polished" and not like the candy paint it's suppose to be based on. (I'm really having trouble trying to word what I mean by that, sorry for the confusion) I swear metallic paint in the 2000s looks better.

Speaking of old T-Hunt... This is the only Treasure Hunter I have. On the back it says "TH 10th Anniversary" and it has rubber wheels that trend to stuck a lot. Very poor on HW tracks, I keep it as a display piece only.

I've never heard this name for Ford 49-51 but I know they called them "Ford Ponton" or "Ford Pontoon" as well as "Ford Crestliner" or just "Crest" in short but these names were not as common as "Shoebox" or "Fortynine" speaking of which, Ford created a neo-retro concept car akin to classic coupe but never made to production. Would be cool to see one in HotWheels, wouldnt' it?

I remember when I was a kid probably around 6 or 7 my grandmother took me shopping for school and I wanted to get one of the hotwheels backpacks there because hotwheels is cool and they all came with a random hotwheels car in a little clear keychain pouch. I decided on the one with pic related in it just because I thought it looked the coolest. I had no idea it was a treasure hunt so of coarse I opened it and used the shit out of it. I still have it somewhere. I can't even find the backpacks for sale on eBay or anything so who knows maybe it could have been worth something with it having a rare car like that in it

I poached plain black wheels from another car and swapped it into the satin silver one. Got Gundam markers but still not the mirror red I wanted. Considered red mirror nail polish but I didn't think if I had the dexterity to paint with a viscous liquid. It's kinda bland and messy but looks good in sunlight.

Yes. The regular ones are common, the supers not so much, Found these two datsuns on the same peg back in april. I sold one for $25 and gifted the other to a friend. My only regret was sellin cheap. It was my first time finding a STH. I was a dumbass.

Yes, but it's not noticeable.There's a flame in the card behind the car and for the supers, there's a variation in the card art. Silver flame if its a regular TH, golden flame if its a super TH.
>Are they announced?
The regular TH are announced by mattel in their lineup. The supers are unofficially announced by enthusiasts and insiders. There are regular mainline versions of the STHs, so non-insiders will figure that out whenever they find one.

I brought these Matchbox lightning wheel cars up many threads ago, I was stoked to find them. The Porsche was my brother's, and the Nissan was mine. As advertised, they were super-fast. As I’m going through them now, they aren’t in the best shape, a lot of bent axles, but I think I did land a few gems that are in OK shape. I also got a ton of those 90s era color changer ones, though I found they really only work if I toss them in the freezer.

Anybody here ever check out those 1/18 Maisto cars at Costco? IMO they are surprisingly well detailed for their $13 price tag. They look a hell of a lot more expensive on my shelf.

Also not sure if I just happened upon them early but it seems like the Costco barrier is enough to keep scalpers from hoarding them all because I’m pretty sure I found at least one of each from the advertised collection on the pallet

Found an old case of cars from my childhood, I was never one to aggressively crash and smash my cars, so they are all in pretty good shape. Except one, I think it’s a Racing Champions brand Dodge truck, and it’s like turned to powder in its slot in the case. The wheels and axles are still there and part of the body is in one piece, but the rest of it like disintegrated. Every other car in the case is fine. Any idea what the hell happened to it? It had rubber tires so I imagine it was one of the more upper scale types too
