This is the first bare chest figure I own, and I'm surprised by how deep the single ball joint waist can go. the neck also has some great range of movement, if the head doesn't get in the way.

The shoulder and elbow range isn't as great, but I don't totally hate it.

I'm very happy with Vorthogg. The 2 sets of hands and feet are great, and hope we'll get them along with alt heads more often over extra weapons.

I'll probably keep him with boots on, pauldrons off, and with the bearded head.

I do wish that the bracers and shin guards would have been painted in the same silver the cuirass is, but I guess that could also be visual story telling that he's wearing pieces from two different sets of armor.

Helphyre Goblin was the one figure I absolutely wanted when the wave was revealed almost 2 years ago, and I'm happy that he didn't let me down.

One of the best values for a basic figure with all of his alt body parts, along with a good selection of infantry arms.

The paint job on both the skin and armor is top notch on mine. I bet this is the kind of dirt and rust that the 4H meant to put on Thumpp, Boarrior, and the original bog goblin; but just didn't pull off quite right.

Seeing as how I never had the original Bog Goblin, I am a bit disappointed the head doesn't plug into a neck peg, and instead just pops into the body's neck hole directly. I wanted to put the head on Belphagorr's body.

Note that the closed mouth head was extremely tight on mine, but after dipping it in boiled water for a few minutes I was able to pop it on the neck peg.

I left it on for a few days and now both faces swap out just fine.

Here's a comparison between Malephar and a Goblin Legion Builder.

Malephar is ever so slightly more black, while the LB is a bit more gray. Otherwise it's very hard to tell apart aside from the painted chainmail, rivets, and leather straps.

Damn, why did he has to pick the most overused helmet in the line? I like the Gorgo helm but if I had the choice to design a figure I'd pick something like the gladiator helmet or spartan helmet.

It also sells 3rd party items. The main idea behind it is that there are many people who can make only a few kinds of items; not enough for them to open their own shop, but Jeremy pooled them all together and sold them under one unified store they could make it viable.

They also buy and sell used figures. So if any of you are on the look out to unload a bunch of figures and don't want to deal with ebay or any of the facebook groups, it might be a good option.

Not that anon but nothing too insane, mainly it's just the terrible aftermarket, the in stock sales that last 5 minutes that people really don't like (myself included).
I think they're wrong about saying only "fanatics" are left, I generally dislike that kind of generalization, but the facebook can be pretty annoying which is why I avoid it and prefer to stay here where most of us are reasonable aside from obvious trolls like that guy from the last thread trying to start a fight over the DnD figures.

I've seen that happen a few times. I'm not going to stop collecting this line, but I have slowed down a lot. I used to buy everything ML when the pre-orders were up, but now I am picking and choosing and have sold off a lot of my older figures because A: the boomers are paying 200-500 dollars a figure I picked up for MSRP and B: the fan base isn't something I want to be associated with, in all honesty. I still like the figures and think they are awesome looking, but most of the people who collect this line are unbearable.

Luckily I never got into facebook (benefits of being a friendless loser) so I've never experienced them first hand.

Not to defend them since that's retarded behaviour but this sort of mentality isnt exclusive to 4horsemen stuff. You tend to find when a bunch of people are in a forum or group dedicated to one thing they tend to be the sort who have their entire personality revolve around that thing so they act hostile when people criticise said thing.

Eh no offense but I've never understood this mentality of not wanting to collect/enjoy something just because some other fans are super annoying.
I like TMNT and Transformers, both of which are largely annoying fanbases but I enjoy those toys just fine (though I stopped collecting Transformers for unrelated reasons) same with NECA, though I dont collect everything they make except for some monsters.

No offense taken, but if I am being honest, I don't understand it either. There is just something that makes me feel weird about liking the same thing as people who act that way. I would like to know more people who are into the same stuff I am, but the way people act in the fb group makes me just not even try to reach out and befriend them and kind of just puts me off whatever it is they like because I don't want other people to put me in the same boat as them in their minds? I agree, it isn't unique to 4hm, but holy hell does it feel like you have to deal with a lot more zealots in the fb group than I have seen with other lines.

I'm too lazy to go find screenshots, but if you look at archived threads you will see a lot of cringe from there. There is a male to female tranny who writes A LOT of lesbian ACBA fan fiction with the ML figures. Maybe I am a deeply broken person, but just the generally way people act in there is just so cringy. Constant sucking up to the 4hm and the group admins and shit. If you post anything negative the fanboys will just jump on you, even if your comment is warranted. Ironically, the admin seems like a normal and well adjusted guy.

Here's my long awaited goblin girl. the main reason why I bought Malephar and Queen Urkza was to do this simple kitbash.

I gave her the barbarian's faulds, since it gives her a nice dress silhouette. I might give her the bare green arms, but I also like those on the new orc lady, too; so we'll see.

I went with the helmeted legion builder head, because the bare LB head had a heavy black wash that didn't match the chest and neck color; while the Knubnik head without the helmet was too tight on Urkza's neck ball.

Another benefit of the helmet head is that I can give her "hair" with the helmet topper.

It does shed when moved, there is a youtube review of the figure where it flakes off a bit and people who got it from Powercon gave commented on it.

That said....I just do NOT care about old bearded dudes in bathrobes. I'm glad for all those who wanted traditional wizards though, as these guys do look cool for what they are and the softgoods look spot on. Azzajazza being an Ogre is fantastic and the wraith chick is probably my favorite reveal so far, but I'm hoping they pull out some more left field concept figures that aren't just old guys.

Honestly, the thing I'm most excited about from this wave so far is the expressive armored hands. If they come in the right colors I'll be buying so many of them. Also, the accessory pack is great, but if it was split in two, I'd buy a pile of the magical bits. But since each one includes the staves, I'll stick with one set since I don't need that many of those.

Not that anon but I was also excited for lizard people. I just got Kragnarr. I think Krag is a better value overall, but this guy looks great. I can't imagine they don't make another one with wings on his back (in the ports where Krag's arms were). I'm also not a big fan of the hands and feet for this guy, but he still looks pretty damn spectacular. Great sword too.

Yeah, people will double dip on normal dragon colors, they 100% knew what they were doing making blue first. I wish he were normal 1.0 size, but it really does look great.

Honestly, it was the knowledge that these are essentially action figures of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse that pushed me over into going all in on each of the mounts and their riders. Even if you ignored the entire rest of the line, just having those four would end up being an incredible display. Oh nice, I have until January to budget the $250 I'm spending on these guys.

Certainly not my favorite wave, but I expected that of something that was gonna be mage heavy. I'll admit having them add not one, but two different Ogre sizes to that class was unexpected. Guess they wanted to make the most of that Centaur torso they whipped up, and of course we were gonna get a dragonman after the Cosmic dude (who I'm now glad I passed on).

The Horseman and the Dragon man are must haves for me, and I plan to get the hand and accessory packs. But the only other figure I care about is the magic girl. I wish she had the bare thighs though, would've looked a lot better under the robes. The Orc is kinda cool, but he seems to be on the smaller Ogre scale which is just odd, though that size is great for the Djinn. As for the three beard dudes, I'm on the fence about Zende as he could pull off a cool battle mage look. But the other two are easy passes for me, but they're great for those who want traditional robed wizards.

I'm totally down for getting that genie, dragon and Azahazzar as well as the weapons/magic packs.

I don't normally care about wizards but I like Samir, he has a nice classic look to him and I've been looking for a mage for my adventuring party so I'll get him too.
The orge shaman doesn't look that good to me, he seems buried in his fur coat.
And I'm not sure if I'll get Poxxus and his horse, there are parts I love and parts I don't and I kinda want to hold out for a skeleton horse.

Did they mention it there was a bonus for ordering in a certain timeframe?

My first impressions:

Dragonman. I already have Drayleeon as a fancy colored spellsword dragon, so if I get an ogre-sized dragon man I think I'd rather have him in a more muted color. I'm passing and hoping for such a thing in the future.

Good mages and evil mage. I find the evil one cooler, so I'm probably getting him and not caring about the others.

Azahazzar. The more I look at him, the cooler he looks. I'm not sold yet, but I think I will be.

Djinn. Looks cool, but I think other guys will make the cut before and leave him out cause I'm not rich.

Poxxus and horse. I've been finding the designs of the horsemen a bit busy. Passing on this guy like I did with Arethyr and Illythia.

Orc shaman. I have conflicting thoughts on this guy. On one hand, I love his look, the idea of an orc shaman and the idea of an orc brute. On the other hand, I feel that this new development makes the existing small orcs kinda obsolete. On yet another hand, personally I only have one orc, so I can pretend he's a half-orc and only buy brute orcs from now on as true orcs since I'm sure it's now just a matter of time before they make a brute-sized fighter orc.

Wraith. I think could use a cute necromancer. Leaning to getting her. It appears that she's not getting casting hands, but I presume that they'd be easy to get on later waves if I really want them.

I'm a bit surprised by this myself, especially after they announced this handpack would work with the 2.0 figures. But all the hands are very much masculine, as they come from the male mages, so they'd look awkward on the female figures. I'm assuming the next wave will have armored and skeleton hand options so hopefully the Clan Bear wave will give us good female hand bits.

This is one of the reasons I always recomment not to overpay for older figures when a new collector appears asking. The line has no signs of stopping immediatly, so if you want a barbarian there are good chances that they make another, better one; if you want a skeleton there's the Necronimus wave coming next, etc.

Yes, it's the new size. A bit smaller than ogre size, significantly bigger than regular size. It's the new torso they're using for the centaur in the Illythia wave, now fully developed as a whole body. The orc shaman and the djinn use it.

With all the new tooling and parts they've been sprinkling about, a new Barbarian wave will probably be the best one they release. There's so many new cloth pieces and more bare limb options, they can really go all out with future barbarians.

Personally I'm hoping for a more Norsemen type wave myself. Stuff like Poxxus' scale mail or the brigadine body with some viking style heads and soft goods.

I actually love that helmet, but agree the horns are a bit much. That said, I passed on him because the brass helmet really doesn't mesh well with the rest of his silver armor. His armor should've been the same color as the helmet, as otherwise he just looks like a bad custom.

But hopefully we'll see that head get reuse in future waves. Both the Knights and Barbarians still need dedicated waves, and that'd be a great alt helmet for someone.

Me again. In general, it would be nice to know if shin swaps are possible with ogre characters.

A lot of the larger figures have great skin patterns and cool headsculpts, but I don't always agree with the armor they're given and I'd like the freedom to do a full armor swap from another figure, leaving only the skin pieces the same.

The Ogres pop apart just like all the other figures. If they're similar sizes, you should just be able to boil'n'pop em apart to mix and match.

But Dragon dude seems to be a larger class of Ogre, so I don't know if he'll scale with Azzahazzawhazzit.

Since it doesn't go with any specific figure I feel like it might fall into the same category the day 1 PO bonuses do which are on the checklist unlike the other heads from the stretch goal that have a specific character they go with.

Isn't Poxxus' theme evil magic users? It's a bit loose but I can see a bit of a theme there.
The bulk of the army seems to be shadow elves with powerful contracted demons and djinn acting as generals while Arrizak seems like he is fulfilling a Saruman role (I haven't read his bio though).
Torrion seems like the odd one out but he's just a random unique character in the faction.

Samir is going in my adventure party, I think he looks like a solid generic wizard and that's exactly what I want.
Arrizak I'm mainly getting for his robes to use for either my vulture mage or to make a skeleton mage, meanwhile I think I'll use the heads on a barbarian body to create a evil muscle wizard.
Azahazzar is going on my demon shelf and Aracagorr will join my forces of evil.
I have no place for Kalizirr right now but he just looks so good and there is no way I'm passing on a genie figure.
I'm flip flopping on getting Thraice or not, the only reason I'm interested in her is her body and cloak but I can probably get those things from somewhere else.

This dude's pants bother me so much, especially because in the same wave they released clothed thighs and more regular boots.

Like these vampires bother putting on legging and metal greaves, but don't bother to put on a shirt and shoes. Would have been so much better if they just have the clothed legs sculpt like the vampire guy with the eagle.

Yeah but why are the slave vampire wearing leggings, chainmail, and plates on top of chainmail pants. Should've been either clothed thigh with light boots, maybe then it is somewhat literal slave who got turned into gargoyle vampire, or bare thighs. It doesn't even match the wraps they have on their arm.

I think these plated leggings, the skinny elf rotary telephone light armor, and the barbarian WWE belt mold are bit too distinct to be overused this much already. It is time to retire them or only use them for things that makes sense.

I think the big problem is that they wanted him to have a more unique body type with stubby legs and gangly arms. The problem is that the bare thighs and new lighter leg armor pieces are human sized, while the short dwarf limbs are only full plat email.

The problem is they only made clothed pants for the full height figures and only have one leg option for the dwarf sized figures like this one. New Dwarf legs are desperately needed in this line, as all the short figures all wear the same pants. At least taller figures had the option of no pants.

I won't say it'll be "focused" on them, but I expect to see a handful when they get to the clan bear stuff. They definitely need more parts in their builds to really make some more unique smaller characters though. Not just dwarves, but goblins, beastmen and other "lesser" creatures could benefit from newer 1.0 small legs.
