Problem with Mafex is you have to like the design more because you're paying 3x more or so for it. If I bought Mafexes I'd probably only buy Death Metal and coomer DC figs

What other mindset should you expect from people who buy "cheap" $20 figures? Not that I know of anyone else who has done a better poseable DM Batman or DM Wonder Woman, because I don't even know if anyone has done them at all with articulation

I have 8 DC figs.
-Armored Azrael and I love the design but hate MCF's articulation and leg sculpt on it. Not sure if Mafex has done this
-DM Batman and DM WW which I really like how MCF did them but would've been open to higher end if they existed. I almost doubt there would really be that much more value added there though beyond DM WW's legs being easier to pull off poses with and hidden pins.
-Cyborg. If I followed your advice I wouldn't have gotten Cyborg which is possibly the most fun DC MCF to pose I have.
-Mattel Spoiler just because it's Spoiler and no other reason.
-A Damien I got for 12 bux that amuses me enough that I think it was worth that despite its flaws in articulation; I like the sculpt except maybe the mouth
-Masked Flashpoint Batman which I like the design on but wouldn't pay over say 30 on. I know there's a statue out there but not sure on any poseable.
-And then there's Art of the Crime Batgirl with sexy animu face sculpt that I'd be tempted for a higher end version of.

I wouldn't really consider this level hoarding as there are so many others I could've gotten that I passed on and don't regret getting any of these. The Spoiler just because it's Spoiler is the closest probably to hoarding and that isn't even MCF.

In case anyone was looking for a McFarlane scale suit body for cheap and didn't wanna wait for them to eventually make a Bruce, the Mattel Triple H 2011 Suit Body works I think. I got it for this Tombstone custom.

This Wonder Woman is the only McFarlane figure I own for comparison.

The problem with that, as someone who buys a bit of everything, is that sometimes the higher end stuff just doesn’t satisfy what you want out of a collection.

I really like having my mixed Batfamily even if most of the toys aren’t great. The Mezco Batman figures I have are flawed but I like how my Mezco Justice League looks. Conversely, Mafex Hush Batman is the best Batman figure I own.. but because he goes with so little I own/want don’t enjoy him as much. Didn’t like Hush Joker or Hush himself, waffling on Harley since I like her more cute than Lee’s, not getting huntress. So I’m down to Catwoman and Nightwing. And while they’re cool, they’re it doesn’t scratch the itch of having a bunch of villains and heroes in a similar scale. I’d easier resell the Mafex than the crap DCUC/Multiverse if I had to.

I feel like Todd has the potential to have a great lineup of unique figures from so many varied runs. He just needs to improve the team's design choices to filter out some of the weirder design choices, quash the crappier head sculpts (most of Suicide Squad) in favor of the better ones (DM, 3 Jokers), go hidden pins and do Spawn accessory packs that are covertly designed to be DCMV gun packs

Most figures with large arms like that have the swivels at the elbow instead of of the bicep, so it's not like its that weird. If anything, Lobo having double elbows and bicep swivel is weird. Pleasant surprise.

What the actual fuck is this head sculpt? I think Damian Wayne’s head would actually be a good substitute, if I were to repaint the skin a little lighter, the mask red, and a white streak in the hair. It’s implied that it does. It may not have been canon before, but I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be now. Just like being possessed by Parallax causes white streaks in someone’s hair. Originally Hal’s hair was greying because he was getting older, but when Geoff Johns retconned the Parallax thing, it also resulted in Parallax being the result of Hal’s white streaks, which we can see exemplified by Sinestro in New 52/Rebirth when he had the Fear Entity inside of him, giving him a white streak of his own. More to the original point, it’s said that the Lazarus Pit restores someone to their physical prime, which I doubt would be middle-aged, further suggesting Ra’s has white streaks because of the pit.

Yeah, they're more made to order for the character at hand. So he wouldn't do something like a "generic suit", it typically be a sculpt based on specifications in the source material. He'd need to specifically do a Gordon figure. Hopefully there is a storyline where Gordon is important enough that he'd be willing to put out a Gordon figure for it.

Forgot I posted this. Anyway, I'm fine with Morrison's redhaired Jason because it does have basis in canon. He's the only person to directly tie in the white streak being from the pit, but that bit feels like Morrison going off memory than research(like Damian's origin.)
My thing about the Lazarus pit is that it was never what gave him the white streak originally anyway. With the Hush fakeout, if Jeph loeb Jim Lee intended it to be a hint at him using the pit, they completely forgot that in the SAME story Riddler used it and didn't have one. And remember, as stupid as it sounds, it wasn't the pit the resurrected Jason, but the Superboy punch. The pit just restored his memories.

If the Lazarus pit gave the people who used it white streaks, then Black Canary, Casandra Cain,and a few others would have it.

We'll probably get a classic one in a Merciless 2-pack. We saw what seemed like an unhelmeted Merciless in the background of one of Todd's videos, so fairly safe bet that that'll be a 2-pack with Wonder Woman. Given those 2-packs have had mostly classic designs, I think that should have a pretty solid looking classic Diana. Plus if you don't want Merciless I'm sure you'll be able to sell him, and probably for a pretty penny if you wait a bit. Though if he actually doesn't have his helmet, you can bet the Batman Who Laughs from the wave that had his helmet, shoulder pads, and sword, is going to shoot up in value.

I did this at first, but it reduces his over all leg length by at least a fourth of an inch or more, and while the beefier thighs look better, the disproportionate limb lengths really fuck up his appearance. My wife who doesn't have much of an eye for this stuff even thought he looked squat that way to a degree that was off-putting.

I acknowledged that, yeah. It's only really obvious from straight on and doesn't bother me in person as much as in these photos, where focal length of the camera seems to be an issue. And I tried swapping the 1000's lower legs onto the Reborn's thighs, but that reduces the leg length and truly makes him look like a gorilla. Not sure if you're the same guy that said "looks like absolute shit" or not, but that's a whole order of magnitude worse than "tiny lower body" in the criticism department. I mean, I know this is the internet, where people use hyperbole to get attention...

He has the feet splayed a bit on the figure to the left, which brings them to about the same height, when in actuality, doing the swap that you see on the right--with the 1000s' lower legs and the Reborn's thighs--makes him shorter by about a quarter of an inch. It really does make him look gorilla-like, which is why I ultimately stuck with the 1000s' entire lower body, even thought that meant slimmer thighs. I wish that I'd taken a photo of mine before I undid the swap so that you could see what I mean; for some reason his doesn't look as "off" as mine did in person.

Yeah, I hate thigh cuts in general so that's the one thing on the figure I don't like. They'll probably do another batman with this body (we know they're doing two supermen) and maybe a blue colour scheme, I'm hoping that one doesn't have the cuts for the horse - probably not though since that means extra moulds to make instead of straight re-use.

Well, he finally came in and overall I like him.
The leg issue is just as irritating as I read about, and the joints in his crotch are kinda loose as well, but the sculpt was solid enough, and his accessories were cool too.
I’ll probably be using the drill fix on his legs later, but for now he’s pretty decent.

That's not my instagram. I was on the mcfarlane tag looking for images and saw them.
As for the name, it's better to add the name of the person who posted the pictures in case people want to go there an check out the rest of their pictures...it's more helpful then saying "found these on instagram", or "from facebook"
